Geez, need the coffee thermos with you while filming that power parade. Always enjoy that spot, and you don't have to worry about the tennis players at the moment. When did the lumberyard shut down there, early 70's? Great video!

1. Do we need to up the anti and put a fine on this type of situation that would wipe out a drivers finances as well as the company he is driving for? 2. Wouldn't a 'yard tractor' with a hydraulic lift be able to quicky undo this mess?

Around 1980 this whole area was called Baja race track. My Suzuki RM 125 was a regular figure there. We would ride up to base occasionally check it out and haul off to jump our hills and what not near it. Cops couldn't get us ever cuz area was massive and all off roading

Roosevelt Road was always a swamp but the urbanization of the area has increased the problems. When we get the six inch (plus) rains, that area is the lowest ground around. There are not enough natrual areas to take in the water. Thank-You for viewing and commenting!

I think it was assigned power for a few weeks, then I stopped seeing it. A lot of the trains on this line are dedicated two way ones. There is an ethanol tank car train and then a hopper train. They go east fully loaded and then get returned empty. The power is usually the same, for a while......

I came across your channel again and it's bizarre to me because I'm originally from Villa Park and watched your videos about Nike missile Addison, Ovaltine etc and I've since moved to Janesville and now you have videos from up here! Did you move as well?
@ipfeldsparАй бұрын
Hi! I've been in Elmhurst for sixty plus years and I'm not moving until the neighbors force me out! I tend to film around places where I have family or friends. I've been visiting Rock County Wisconsin as I have family in the area. So, I wander Janesville, edgerton, Milton, Magnolia Bluff, Indian Ford Newville, Fulton,Turtle, etc, etc. I also have a lot of video from Door County. In Iowa, Council Bluffs is my home away from home. But, for the rest of the year, I spend most of my time in DuPage or Cook County. I appreciate you viewing my vids and I thank you for taking the time to comment!

More like bird watching instead of your regularly scheduled train watching.
@ipfeldsparАй бұрын
The birds were an unexpected bonus. I was there to do some filming along the river and that darn dam would have been mighty boring without the pelicans. Did you see the train in the background? Two miles upriver, the railroad is built on a causeway that follows the river bank. I was hoping to record near there but the trees/shrubs shrouded the area. I recorded a train clip at Sterling, and later at Nachusa and Ashton. My primary purpose was to do a Slo-Tv of the State Highway that follows the river. I filmed it but the vibrations preclude posting most of it. Still, it was a fun trip and I got to see the farmers harvesting in the fields. As always, thank-you for viewing and commenting!!!

Fun fact: in the parade, there were some steam tractors that had body parts which look like a steam locomotive, in which they're powered by steam and even have a whistle feature
