But this is specular reflection and not diffuse, no?

That's really cool. I've always wondered how they did that. Thought it was glue.

As a ypung man back in the late 80s working prodution welding after school i was fascinated by mig wedding. My dad was welding back before mig and i would ask him. Could you build something by just welding into shape? We talked about how impractical it was for years. Even tried to weld a plate form once. Had hours in and it was maybe 2 inches of crap. Fast forward to this. Addative manufacturing if such a cool field. Kinda wish i was still doing industrial maintenance. Be cool to work on this level of equipment.

něco je tam špatně když se z plastů už kouří. Laserové svařování je bezemisní. pokud se z plastu už kouří tak dochází k degradaci což je nežádoucí.

Wow that’s crazy! In a cool and surprising way… never thought I’d get to live to see the day of people WELDING with a stylist from a remote computer… I could fathom operating a fully automated setup with a computer but this manual welding setup is next level… very cool tech, makes me wonder where it may come in handy. I imagine perhaps in dangerous places or when it’s more cost effective to take a welding rig with you and not the welder (perhaps like under water oil fields and etc)… I imagine this got some inspiration from the realm of robotic surgical equipment since welding is kind of similar in terms of hand-eye coordination and tiny movements making a big difference.

I guess what I need to know is what’s the significance of the programs that they’re trying to get us to go back to? How does a manufacturing degree alleviate these zombie properties?

I am trying to bond aluminium and glass together using ultrasonic soldering using active solder. Do you have any tips on things to look out for and would you mind going into some more detail on the process please? Thank you
