Thanks for explaining why you shouldn't light a Jetboil with the pot in place. I assumed it was to avoid warping an unfilled pot, but never considered the effect of the flux ring.

@@davidgraceffa3963 It’s on sale here in the UK and has been for sometime. I’ve just checked the UK decathlon website and it’s still there. As for other countries. I have no information on that. Or any reason why it maybe sold in one country but not another. That seems silly to me why they wouldn’t sell it to their worldwide customers.

Am I going mad or did the clip repeat it self between 19:00 and 19:20?
@ItsaCampingThing
@ItsaCampingThing 20 күн бұрын
No it didn’t repeat itself. I had to cut that part of the video. The audio is different and the reason it was cut was because I blurred some items on the bed. Probably not the best way to do it as I do struggle with masking in Premiere Pro. But no it’s not repeated just cut awkwardly so that when the video cuts back it’s back to a similar position before I pan the camera in the same direction

Completely agree with you on this about C&C club. I’m surprised you stayed so long! We had our honeymoon in August 2021 on the Isle of Wight site and left the C&C when after that when our membership ran out. There are far better privately owned sites with better facilities. My favourite site is meadow falls in Ingleton if you get chance to visit that one I highly recommend it! I don’t like the fact that with C&C club sites you can have a BBQ but not a fire. I literally use my BBQ as a fire pit afterwards so for me spoils the whole camp experience if you can’t have a fire. We used it more for the little non club sites that you still had to be a member for.

Hi mate, great few review videos on this tent. I’m looking for something more substantial for campsite camping having just spent the weekend on Dartmoor in a backpacking tent 😂😂🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️albeit with communal tarps & gazebos. Just an idea with the ‘faults’ you could add ‘tarp clips’ to the back end of the inner for light hangers and even run a drying line. With the exterior vents you could make a prop to attach to the existing Velcro points 🤔🤔

Well covered and agree......they seem to be cashing in on the fact that UK based holidays have been on the increase since lockdown. I find that cutting out the middle man and speaking to the camp site directly is the best option. Yes I know that C&C sites are members only but there are plenty on good sites out there. Liking your channel and looking forward to the next video. thanks Jon

*Many* sites have jacked up their prices over the last couple of years - way beyond the cost-of-living increases or inflation. Not just the C&CC, but most sites. Part of me suspects that they are trying to cash in on the boom in new campers/caravaners that lockdown brought - although the struggles in the caravan dealerships suggests that this was simply a temporary blip (and the downturn that the industry is now experiencing has been blamed in part on - yep - high site fees). With my tent, and no EHU requirements, I think that anything over £20 is expensive; but there are sites out there that positively take the mickey, with all sorts of surcharges that would make Mssr Thenardier blush (child? £5 extra - per child; dog? £3 extra - per dog. Looked in the mirror twice? that'll be another 50p please). There was a wry comment doing the rounds in the early 80s, about the most profitable crop a farmer could put in a field (the answer? caravans) - but I *dream* of paying 1980s levels of site fees these days. It's not like the operating costs are particularly high. We go camping for a week on the same site each year. This year they had put up a fancy marquee (because they also cater for weddings etc), which looked to be £25k's worth to my eyes. So of course they want to double the site fees for next year (at which point we say "thanks, but no thanks"). I wonder how long it will take the site owners to cook this golden egg-laying goose?

Completely agree with you regarding the club membership price. I was a member myself years ago. I also joined the Association of Lightweight Campers, a section of the C&CC for as the title says, lightweight camping. The cost for this was an extra £12 I think (it's currently £6) but I thought this to be ridiculous. As a lightweight camper, we'd arrive by foot, cycle etc, use a smaller tent, use lighter equipment and take up less space...only to be charged extra! Amazing! I also left due to this stupidity. Campsite prices however have been going up across the board since the pandemic. The way I see it, when flight restrictions happened and people couldn't go elsewhere, the campsite owners took advantage of that. Prices have literally doubled on nearly every site I've looked at since. I don't for one second believe it's down to the usual cost of living excuse everyone is using as there are plenty of sites still offering affordable pitches. Many unfortunately have just gotten greedy.

I had a question, maybe you can help me here. We have gotten a 4.1 and 5.2 air seconds(for free) by quechua. Do you think putting a tarp over the airbeams (when both entrances are facing eachother) to connect them with a roof could work? Or would the airbeams faulter under the weight or strain from the ropes? Thanks in advance.

You made a great review, we have bought this tent (second hand) and are really happy with it. We’ve used this style tent bought 2 years ago to holiday in Slovenia. We’re Irish. The temperature there was 33 to 38 degrees with lots of thunderstorms. The tent withstood all of this climate situation. We unfortunately did not use a groundsheet this year as we have done for the past 15 years camping in France. When we came to take down the tent the underside was wet and full of wet clay which we partially dried off before packing up. We intended to go to France and set up the tent there and finally dry it. However, one of us got ill and we had to return quickly to Ireland. Now the problem will be to find a good day where the tent can be erected again and cleaned and dried before storing it for the winter. We’re back a week now and every day has been raining. Lesson learned ‘never pitch a tent without a groundsheet underneath.’ We use a blow up bed and other accessories such as a small table alongside the bed for mobile phone etc and a torch in case of a night visit to the bathroom. The rechargeable lights from decathlon are very useful and give sufficient light. Thank you for your review.

I have a Swedish clone of the Cloud Peak 2 where they have included a little gutter above the doors and the 'starfish' has a different attachment on one end that, while removable, is designed to be left on. It is usual to wrap the guys around the poles also. The downsides are that it is a bit more expensive and rather heavier but they do seem to keep much of their value second hand.

I’m seriously considering buying this tent but I’m a complete novice 🤪 would I need a ground sheet under the tent? And also, you mentioned that the tent isn’t likely to blow away in the wind… is that because of the lack of height? And if so, does this mean I could swerve the guide ropes if the weather isn’t too blustery? 😂

I used to go camping years ago - and so I've been looking at tents to get back into it. So, while I was searching for a tent, and thought I'd check out the campsite prices! Wow, some places in Cumbria are charging more than £50 a night - at those rates I either won't bother or take up wild camping and face the risk of getting moved on. Insanity!

To be honest it's one of the tents weaker points. This was just a first impressions video. More will follow with reasons to buy and avoid this tent as well as an overall review review after some use. I found it tricky myself. The only way I do it is to lay the tent on the ground, pegging one end and feed the poles in from one end and work across. Then once all the poles are located in the plugs or sockets I pull it out and peg it at the other end. But even that can be hard work

Hello, I am considering starting to go mountain camping in October and November, for that I will need a good sleeping bag, of course, because in the mountains at night the temperatures drop a lot, but the question I have is, what the h. am I doing at 5pm when the sun goes down and it's freezing cold in the tent? Should I go to the bar until night? Then I will find the tent frozen. Anyway, in the morning trekking, then lunch, nap, and? What do you do in the dark afternoons in these situations? Thank you and I hope I have explained myself well. Really interested in starting this new adventure but this point is annoying me a little bit (what to do when's dark) Greetings

@ItsaCampingThing
@ItsaCampingThing 2 ай бұрын
@@MrRoballusus it’s not really a compulsory item and only adds a few inches height. I mean this video was shot a few years ago now. The height is nice if say you have a bad back and don’t want to get all the way down to the ground to get in to bed. It is more of a luxury item. More on the side of glamping if you like. For me now all this time later it’s not something I tend to use as much. Mainly because it reduces space in the car when travelling to the campsite. Plus something else to set up and pack away. If you can do with out it then great. But of like me at the time of making this video and you wake up with a different ache every day due to age. Then it might be of some benefit
