In this video I take a first look at the Quechua MH100 3 person tent. A budget tent at £49.99. Here I show you how to set it up and compare it to its smaller version. The MH100 2 Person tent.
All opinions expressed in this video are mine and mine alone. If your opinion differs from mine then thats perfectly fine.

Thanks for the great review mate, I’ve just bought this three person tent and absolutely love it! I’m a born again camper and have had a few different tents over the years, but this is fast becoming my favourite, for a lot of the reasons that you have talked about. I think it’s all about the smile factor, and the joy that you get camping is like nothing else. Please keep up the good work introducing new campers to the hobby, it’s so worthwhile to go away in your tent and experience the great outdoors. Cheers to you and Bella.

Just seen this, Can speak from Experience, I've been wild Camping with both the 2 man (Dartmoor Solo), 3 Man (Exmoor 2 people), for a week walking with everything. It's perfect for a person like myself who does not camp too often but for 1-2 times a year it is perfect!

Thanks for a nice review. Guide ropes do not have adjustment sliders, but it's not an issue. I would say it's an advantage! It's an opportunity to learn camping knots :) Taut-line hitch is just for that.

Bella wants to go camping. I camp solo with my 2 dogs, as soon as the tent comes out of the shed they know and even my 16 year old dog can’t wait to go. Thanks for the video, very informative.By the way, I dislike the blackout tents, I want to wake up with natural light and in a rain storm you’ll be stuck inside with no light. Woah, no food inside MY tent ever, or close by, I camp mostly in bear country.

Thanks for your message. Ooooh yeah you've got to be careful with bears. Thankfully here the only wildlife we might get is inquisitive sheep or a horny Badger lol. Haha Bella does feature in a video after the next one. The next one I go hiking with my girlfriend and the one after that I take my mum and Bella camping. All filmed and uploaded. Just not ready for release yet. I understand exactly what you mean about Blackout tents though. What you mention is definitely a disadvantage. I did have a Blackout tent a few years back. Literally couldn't see your hand in front of your face. Even when the sun was bright outside. Every time I wanted my keys or wallet I had to put the lamp on. So yeah definitely pros and cons with each design. Thanks again for your message and have a great day.

Newbie here...Great comparison and simple step by step instructions on how to put the tent up unlike some others where they fast speed this process up 😕 I wish you showed how to pack away but I guess I'll figure out once it arrives 👍

I just lay the tent out. Then fold the poles. Folding the tent to match the width of the poles. As they are the same size as the interior or the stuff sack. This should make packing the tent in to the sack much easier. I hope that helps.

Haha Bless you. Thats really lovely of you to say. Thank you and yeah Bella is adorable. Ball mad though haha. WOW for that price you really cannot go wrong. Here in the UK it's retailing for £49.99 or around $63 US dollars. So your got an absolute bargain there.

I’m seriously considering buying this tent but I’m a complete novice 🤪 would I need a ground sheet under the tent? And also, you mentioned that the tent isn’t likely to blow away in the wind… is that because of the lack of height? And if so, does this mean I could swerve the guide ropes if the weather isn’t too blustery? 😂

Right the 2 Seconds Easy 3-P measures at 210cm x 205cm with a maximum ceiling height of 128cm. So the 3-P is a little wider and higher

@ItsaCampingThing great video. I'm looking to get into camping with my daughter. We have a reasonable budget so have thinking about 2 seconds easy 3p given the awning option (another good video btw). But this might be a short term option until the stock picks up. Given you've got the mh100 2p and 2 seconds easy 2p it'd be interesting to see you do a comparison video. Keep up the good work. I've learnt alot.

Thanks for such a great video! do you know if there’s a shop that you could visit and see what these look like up in person as I’ve tried to look on the go outdoor shops and can’t see any of these tents. I’m only asking because I like to see before I buy as in go inside the tent and see what it’s like, etc even though you’re showing us the product still like to look before I buy. Do you know if this would also work for a long week away and not just festivals?

Quechua is a Decathlon brand so you won't find it at Gooutdoors, Amazon or anywhere else I'm afraid. I would check your nearest store. Maybe phone them in advance and see if they have it on display. My local store only has a couple of Tents on display for much of the year and then in peak season has more on display in the car park. As for a duration with the tent. It depends on how much kit your taking. Food, clothes, belongings etc.. If three people are going then you'll need to store all that in your car and keep going backwards and forwards. Not ideal if it's raining and bringing moisture in to the tent. If it's just you then you'll be fine I would imagine. My trick is to use four tennis balls on the lawn. Look at the dimensions on Decathlons website and mark out what size the inner part of tent will look like. The you'll know with how much you want to take if it will fit or not. No one wants to be cramped in a tent for a few nights where there isn't enough space. Usually if I'm going for four or five nights and I am close to fifty years old. Then I find that a tent I can stand up in is better for longer durations of camping. Otherwise your back tents to notice it first. Ideally I would probably use it for 3 nights maximum but that's just my comfort threshold. Yours maybe different to mine.

If two people are going and space isn't such a premium when travelling I would always go for a 3 person version for 2 people. And the 2 person tent for when travelling solo. Otherwise you have no room to store your clothes and food etc. Plus with a two person tent with two people it can be a little too cozy

Hi Paul. Hope you’re well. I was browsing decathlon whilst on a break today (like ya do 😄) and came across the MH100-XL 3P tent. Just wondered if you know if this is a new tent or not? I haven’t seen it before, only the normal 3P version.

Hello mate. Yeah all good. Just had my mum in hospital so busy being her carer for awhile. 20-21 hour days mostly. Though yesteday I slept all day. Plus the weather is terrible. Cannot wait to get out again but the ground is so boggy. We've had the wettest winter on record apparently. So yes I have seen the tent and I do believe it's a new version. It looks rather nice. Though for £105 maybe I would have liked to have paid a little for for 7005 series aluminium poles instead.... Maybe. For me it doesn't really offer anything new. It kind of reminds me of my Coleman Festival Blackout 4 tent. A similar design at least. Anyway I hope your keeping well?

@@ItsaCampingThing Bless you. Those are long days Paul. No wonder you’ve had no time to do any videos recently. Wishing your mum a speedy recovery! We’ve had it reasonably dry this week in the south east, so almost looking like spring has sprung.. I did think you’d know if it was a new one. I do like the look of it just as a garden tent or for quick local camps. Again, I’m a sucker for the 2 second easy 3p but for that and the awning combined it is now £315. I was hoping they might have come down a little in price, but nope! So £105 seems a little easier on the wallet lol..

@@StuNotStew yeah she had a Knee replacement operation on the 25th of Feb. Still needs a Zimmer frame to get about and I have to walk in front of her on the stairs incase she falls.... Im 17 stone so a bit like a brick wall me haha. So I cannot go anywhere at the moment and money is tight anyway. Off to the Lakes in May and a dreaded car MOT 😬 I was thinking of doing an update video. But to be fair. People just want camping videos from a channel like this. Not updates and as much as I'd looooooove to get away right now. My priorities are here at the moment. Yeah the tent looks nice. But then Quechua do put a lot of thought in to their designs. Especially the Fresh and Black range I find. Yep long days and I'm between Nottingham and Leicester. We've had a couple of nice days but generally it's rain most days or during the night. Or worse still, both. The fields are boggy and just not fit for camping at the moment. My lawn is so bad the ground feels like jelly when you walk on it.... And no that's not because im 17 stone haha. It was Bella's Birthday today. She turned 4 and as much as she loves a game of fetch the fields are just a mess. So we've been on short pavement walks and playing in the house. Anyway.... Bed time for me. 1am alarm call for work. Thanks for your messages mate.... I am missing making the videos and chatting to you all. Hopefully I can be back sooner rather than later

Could you fit a double airbed in this?
@ItsaCampingThing
@ItsaCampingThing 4 ай бұрын
Since dimensions change from brand to brand I would suggest you check Decathlons website for the inner dimensions. Then compare that what ever double airbed you have in mind. Sadly I don't have the dimensions at hand. My feeling is that you should be able to. Though you would want an airbed with minamal depth. Maybe 10cm maximum
