Why should a change in Fair Value of Biological asset be recorded as either income or expense in the SOCI, when it actually doesn't involve or result in real money movement?

One question: Here you have shown loss from discontinued operation after the profit from the continuing operations. Why that is not considered while calculating the tax expense. Should we assume you have considered that while calculating the tax expenses. Just for the presentation's sake tax expense is shown above discontinued operations.
@CPDbox13 күн бұрын
Great question. Actually, in line with IFRS 5.33, you should always recognize the profit or loss from discontinued operations post-tax, so yes, that single line already contains the tax component. The income tax line then contains just the income tax related to continuing operations. I hope this helps!

Thank you, undoubtedly the best, as always. Thank you for allowing me to ask a riddelling question (to me), about the formula. As in hyperinflation, the elected gpi is expected to be in the escalation mood (like a positive slope curve). So for the pl, if we multiply the transaction by the ending gpi over the transaction gpi (earlier date), the same should result in a higher value, how would that read, for revenue lines for example if a revenue line pre the formula is 100 currency units and after the formula it goes up to say 130 cu. Can you pls help, on how to perceive this.... thank you!!!

How did you debit and credit the same bank account, can you please explain 😅
@CPDboxАй бұрын
I think I explained it clearly in the video, but once again: This is accounting with gross settlement with the bank, where actually the company PAYS 11 mil. USD and RECEIVES 10 mil. EUR. Yes, sometimes it can go through the same bank account, sometimes the bank accounts are two, and sometimes the settlement is on a net basis - meaning that the bank and the company clear the mutual balance and settle just the difference in one net payment. I hope this explanation is now clear.

Please let me know when we receive a invoice from respective supplier what entry we need to pass in books of account? We cannot debit Lease liability account or any expense account. Supplier needs to be credited and which account need to debit? Once payment done, supplier need to debited and bank credited
@CPDboxАй бұрын
What supplier do you mean here? The lessor? Or do you mean the supplier of the item that is financed by the lease? If this is the case, then you debit whatever you purchased from that supplier, for example Dr PPE (car) Cr Suppliers.

What will be the accounting entries for lease payment and interest if the arrangement to pay is on every half yearly? Thanks.
@CPDboxАй бұрын
In that case, you would need to set up your lease table a bit differently, with the periods between the individual lease payments of 6 months. And then, you would use 6-months rate instead of annual rate.

What are the additional work expected from entities to structure the income statement that way?
@CPDboxАй бұрын
It depends on the specific entity, but just as an example - go through chart of accounts and make sure that there is a sufficient structure there to map all the accounts accordingly to the line items in profit or loss, especially foreign exchange differences, interest expenses, etc.
