Thank you this is gold! Please do more and explanation of LFOs would be good too…

Thanks, that’s a good idea! I also want to do one on the basics of what people call “The Elektron Workflow”

Sounds great! I had some issues with notes dropping out when I connected a Yamaha reface though midi channel 1 and just wondered how the voices settings work with midi? I guess should read the manual!😂

Thank you very much! first time someone explained e the basics for the Iridium. Trimma Kassi 🙏
@bananaghost4278 күн бұрын
If you want more LFOs per track, i think you can plug the MIDI out directly into the MIDI in, and use the MIDI LFOs from one (or more) MIDI tracks on the the Wavetone track. Not 100% sure about that, but stuff like that works on the Mk1 versions. Very groovy video Mr Gino. Thanks!

Thank you sounds great good demo! Are their any issues with sticky buttons?
@ginoco27 күн бұрын
Your welcome! I’ve never had any issues with sticky buttons on Elektron devices. I think a lot depends on the temperature and humidity of where you use it. Since I have mine in a home studio most of the time, I’ve had no issues (even on my OG Digitakt which I’ve had since 2017)

Holy shit, we need that pad preset!
@ginocoАй бұрын
Thanks :) I added it to the video description, but I wish it was easier to share. Since I use a combination of 2 tracks + FX. We don't yet have support from Elektron to share Kits (which would solve it).

Does the transpose respect scale in any way? Couldn't find if it does in the manual
@ginocoАй бұрын
Transpose currently doesn’t follow the keyboard scale. Just a straight transpose in semi-tones. Hope this helps :)
@LyoshaTheZebraАй бұрын
Thanks for the answer. I still wonder why don't they address the output scale quantization, which was forever a popular feature request. The box is more than capable. Can't complain though, cause the device is amazing.

I agree with you 1000%. The Digitone II is just plain overpowered. Wavetable and FM synthesis in the same damn box?! The feature list is sick, meanwhile all the OP-XY hype is already falling apart. Combine the 'Takt & 'Tone and all of a sudden the rest of your gear starts growing a dust carpet! So many things in my life are being neglected right now!

Hertz offset being more impact full makes sense because the differences in hertz between lower notes is smaller than in higher ranges and this offset doesnt seem to account for it

@ginocoАй бұрын
Sorry, I should have added an update sooner. There's not currently a way to share kits, and this "preset" uses 2 layers. I was going to add it as 2 separate presets, but that got complicated as I'd also need to give instructions on how to link them. So the best thing at this point is to just share a written recipe on how to recreate it. It's actually a basic patch to build. I'll add the recipe to the video description soon.

Lacks brilliance immo. Was this recorded through the room mic?

No it was direct in. I did roll off the highs with a filter it as it was too bright IMO, and also discovered that I accidentally recorded the video in mono :)

Was this recorded in mono? I can't tell even when you added chorus, delay and reverb if this felt particularly wide. I guess it at least wasn't a ping pong delay? Helpful walkthrough regardless!
@ginoco2 ай бұрын
Yes it was, by mistake! I accidentally had the mono switch on in OBS. All future videos will be in glorious stereo :). The only good news is that I learned that mono works great on phones and smaller speakers.

Thanks! The button is good, it’s just my camera playing tricks. It’s weird because if you zoom in on it in the video it does look like it’s wearing off, good catch! It’s absolutely fine though in person.

@ginoco2 ай бұрын
I answered this in another post, but can't figure out how to send you a link to it :) Here is the text from that response: "No offense taken, that's a fair question. I'm not getting early access for being a KZbinr that's for sure :) It's more because I have a fairly long history of helping on synth betas and music software. It started by taking the extra effort to contact companies when I found something wrong, as it's too easy to assume someone else will."

@ginoco2 ай бұрын
That’s a tough question as the DN2 can get close to a variety of 808 and 909 sounds, but if you’re looking for identical sounds then it’s better to go with a sampler IMO. So it really depends on your expectations.
