I'm just out of a two week ALS hole. My calves are twitching like mad. It's amazing how your brain can simulate weakness as well. I was convinced I had weakness in my left hand but now I'm thinking healthily again I know that I don't. My calves are both still going for it but I'm a marathon runner who has obviously over used them. Going straight to ALS is like having the runs and going straight to terminal bowel cancer.

For other cancers, we dont have to deal with the stress of if there's blood when i poop today, colorectal cancer is the most scary cancer. Hemmorrhoids msy be a benign condition but the anxiety it gives you is no less than something sinister

For those who have looked to Benign Fasciculation Syndrome and see that it's supposedly rare, ignore this. It is common. It's just that people who don't have health anxiety don't get checked out for this.

I'm semi in this hole now. My symptoms are both calves twitching. My logical brain knows that the odds are ridiculously in my favour. The odds of getting ALS are very small to begin with. I'm 40 years old so my age based risk is fairly low. So for me to have ALS I would have to first beat the odds of getting this rare disese which is rare in my age group. Then I would have to be in the super rare group within this rare disease who present as twitching first. I can easily reassure myself with the logic but a part of my conscious won't let me go an hour without thinking of ALS. I went out and ran 11 miles a few days ago to prove that I have no weakness, but still there was doubt. How do I fully beat this illness? It isn't consuming me but it's not healthy.

I’m literally going through almost Exactly what you went through. Although I don’t have pain on my abdomen at all, I do have diarrhea and it’s mainly just been coming out mucus and blood. So I’m kinda freaking out about that. So I hope that what you described your situation is what I have. It’s all bright red blood, no black or dark stools at all. It’s just diarrhea and blood in my stool. So I’m trying my best to stay positive about this and not go into the whole “I have bowel cancer” every time I see blood after I poop.. and I have severe anxiety.. so I think anxiety also plays a part in why I have been having diarrhea with blood and mucus.

Seems like we have to build a better mindset and just remind ourselves it will get better, but it will take time! I am recovering from health anxiety, and I come back to watch your videos to remind myself. All is well and I will continue to get through this. For any of you still struggling, keep going you have to take control of your mind and make the changes in your life that are necessary to feel more at peace. It gets much much much much better than it ever was! I’m so grateful for your videos, KZbin has been my source for help versus health professionals 🙏

I'm in this rabbit hole just now. I do have severe health anxiety. But I'm convinced this isn't what's going on. I really think this is the real deal. I noticed it around 5 weeks ago. My right arm felt a bit odd. A bit heavier than normal. Then around a week later I noticed when I went to grab things it felt odd. Like keys etc. Or my phone or anything. I'd shake my hand and try again. I could always perform the task. It just felt awkward like it wasn't my hand or something. My right leg was also feeling heavy. (I think I have sciatica so I'm trying my best to think it's just that for my leg) Then that same week I noticed when I stick my tongue out it shakes like crazy! No one else's does. I've asked 10 people now. Fast forward to now.. a few days ago I got random twitching in my right eyelid. It comes and goes. But also twitching in my right upper arm and in my right leg. Calf and thigh. I also notice some cramping in that upper arm and my leg also. These do come and go. But that happens in ALS. The twitching and cramps aren't constant. So I'm a proper mess. I'm only 29. I started going through fertility treatment not long ago. I really thought I was changing my life around. But then this gets me. My doctor seems sure I don't have it. Just anxiety. But he's known be for my whole life. So everything is anxiety. I have an appointment coming up soon with neurology. So hopefully I get answers and they are positive answers and I get to live. I'm beyond terrified. I try to tell myself maybe the muscle twitches in my leg are from sciatica. Maybe the muscle twitches and cramp in my upper arm are from my tight muscles and sore back. But I've searched and searched and can't fine that to be the case. It all points to ALS.

I disagree. The missing link is you! Remembering who you truly are, which is not your body, thoughts, or emotions. Healing is actually not complicated, and you can have lasting inner peace by simply changing your perspective. My question for you is, do you know who you truly are? That is my first and only question i would ever ask a therapist. Lasting health starts there. Outside therapy and medications are unnecessary when you know who you truly are. Most therapists are fundamentally flawed in their understanding of mental health & suffering.

I started getting this when i got sick 6 yrs ago. A cyst was growing rapidly on my ovary and bleeding healing over and over. The internal tremors and just a general feeling of not feeling well were my only symptoms. Until i collapsed when it was an ovarian torsion. After the surgery, it never came back. Yes, i agree hormones/adrenaline is a big culprit

If anyone reading this has deja vu with an accompaning feeling (usually a bad feeling like a sense of doom) or nausea, go see a neurologist because you could have epilepsy. Some focal seizures present this way.

I got rear ended while stopped at a red light 4 months ago and suffered some pretty bad whiplash, but luckily no fractures or broken bones. Unfortunately as the weeks went on the pain in my neck got worse and I started loosing sleep due to the pain and next thing I know myoclonic hypnic jerks started during sleep. These myoclonic hypic jerks are something I had real bad 25 years ago but got over it and that I completely forgot about until now. My first reaction when the jerks reappeared was "oh no, their back" 😢 The anxiety that I get when the sun goes down knowing that I'm going to have to wrestle with my own nervous system when trying to sleep is making it worse and running my. I recently had to take disability leave from work because I'm having such bad sleep problems. I'm so jealous of people who can sleep 😢 I pray to God I can get a handle on this like I did 25 years ago. I saw a neurologist who's supposedly a specialist in sleep and told him I've myoclonic hypnic jerks and didn't seem know what that was. He asked me if it was somehow related to epilepsy and I said no. Some "sleep specialist" he is. It's obviously a stress and anxiety related disorder but this neurologist is busy looking for brain tumors and things like that using MRI and EEG brainwave studies. I need someone who is going to help me with my anxiety and cost me a bunch money with fancy diagnostics. It seems the medical community at least here in the US is not knowledgeable about this condition and it results in a lot of people like us suffering tremendously. For instance, not one medical doctor has tested my cortisol and adrenlene levels. And if those levels are high have some way of getting those levels down quickly. Why is that??? Maybe they can't make enough money on something simple like that.

A few years back, I had a medical problem that required me to get part of my intestine removed. I always had anxiety around health, but it seemed to get much worse after that surgery. so I decided to go through therapy and that seemed to help. However, this past semester was a very stressful semester and I started to get a weird twitch in my eye. It gave me some anxiety, but I chocked it up to stress. It went away and now the semester is over and I’m under a lot less stress. But A few days ago, my arm right below, my elbow started twitching nearly nonstop. I thought it was weird because I’ve never really had twitching before and it seemed to be only in my arm but now I’ve been ruminating on it for a couple days and it’s still happening. Today I started to get a few tiny twitches in my eye. I suspect it’s just an anxiety, but I am a little skeeved that it’s seemingly only in the one spot discounting the few twitches I’ve had in my eye today.
