Great content Shari. We've been doing prescribed burns on our Plains Garden every 2-3 years for quite some time. It is always amazing to see the prairie regenerate and change from black ash to bright green blades of native grasses after the first spring rainstorm. It is really cool to see how you've incorporated college classes into the burn project for real life experience.

As we work with youth to introduce them to the power of plants and the diversity of careers working with plants, it's people like you, who share their own stories and expertise, that will resonate with youth. Brian and the NYBG Team - Thanks for recording this APGA rapid fire video. It was a great companion piece to the posters. And thanks to all five of the gardens for working on this EcoFlora model. Can't wait until the public garden near me joins on board! Citizen science projects are such a great way to get kids & families connected with plants and nature! Susan E. Kari and the Oregon Botanical Project Team - Thanks for creating this rapid-fire session presentation! I'm so thrilled to hear about this future addition to Portland. As we work to get more kids & families connected with nature, the physical and mental health benefits cannot be understated. I loved hearing that you're connecting with the healthcare community. As more doctors are "prescribing Vitamin N (nature)" we're hoping for the creation of more parks, gardens and conservatories so everyone will have close-by access to their restorative powers and wonder. That PT you mentioned.... we like to think of as "plant therapy!" Keep up the great work. Susan E. Yoder, Executive Director, Seed Your Future. SeedYourFuture.org

Julie and Alex - this was terrific. These are the stories that young people need to hear so they no that there is not just one path to a career. And, getting involved in networking events and training (such as the Women's Tree Climbing Workshop) is such a great way to make connections and perhaps find your next career opportunity. I especially liked the quote "...almost all experience can be used to advance toward your end goal and career." We'll be sure to share this video as a part of our ongoing work to promote horticulture and inspire more people to pursue careers working with plants! Susan E. Yoder, Executive Director, Seed Your Future. SeedYourFuture.org

It takes nothing away from any of the lovely gardens depicted to say that it would have been nice if more than one garden west of the Mississippi had been included. Perhaps the release of the next ten stamps (and there definitely should be) will more broadly represent American gardens in the midwest, southwest and west coast.

The ceremony was very special. It was the first virtual stamp event in the history of the U.S. stamp program. American gardens rock!!!

Gardens are meant to be shared. In Greenville, SC we have the Kilgore-Lewis House which has Carolina Rhododendrons and other native plants. No matter what time of year it is. There is always some plant or tree to admire.
