Living in a Neurodivergent World

The topic of neurodiversity is becoming more widely discussed within the broader topic of accessibility and the desire to create belonging for those who experience neurodivergence. The Oxford Dictionary defines neurodivergence as differing mental or neurological function from what is considered typical or normal (frequently used with reference to autistic spectrum disorders).
Join this IDEA Center sponsored Café with guest panelists, Reverend Jennifer Alviar and Dr. Thomas Rashad Easley, as they share their stories, lived experiences navigating a non-apparent or invisible disability, and when they have felt belonging. This session intends to bring greater awareness of this diverse topic to spark conversations among listeners who seek to accommodate staff and visitors with neurodivergence.
