This is really cool! im busy with Widening my croncraft cnc and upgrading from 3080 to 4080c beam for the z gantry to run on :) but im completely redesigning the y axis plates I like the effort you have gone to vs just buying flatbar and drilling some holes haha, curious if this affected the performance of your steppers ?
@improvisedcnc2340
@improvisedcnc2340 10 ай бұрын
The steppers are fine. The rigidity is a little less. I might do a completely different z-axis altogether like I did for my brother.

yeah I am redoing the plates on mine to be compatible with the new 4080 C beam I got :) will make a video about it once im done, my stock spindle died out of the box so I already have a Makita one :) @@improvisedcnc2340

Hi Johan. I am using Fusion 360 to export the g-code in Easel format and then use Universal G-code Sender (UGS) to feed it to the router

@@improvisedcnc2340 as I understand it you use Fusion as CAD and CAM, save as an .nc file and then use UGS to drip feed to router?

I'm looking at getting cnc router what is your opinion on the cron craft is it a good machine.
@improvisedcnc2340
@improvisedcnc2340 Жыл бұрын
Hi Luis. The Cron Craft is a budget machine. If you want to do metal CNC work fulltime, then I would suggest a bigger machine. The Cron Craft is good for woodworking and plastic. It's major drawback is that it does not have rotary encoders and can lose it's position and ruin your parts. I am pushing the envelope, showing what it can do with care and patience.

Hi Jason. I use Fuson 360 for CAD/CAM, export it in the Easel format of g-code and then run the g-code via Universal G-code Sender(UGS).

Holy moly. Can you take deeper cut? I don't know your spindle power, but when I started about a year ago, then I was machining with wrong parameters. I recently took a cam and old part what I machined and changed my parameters to what I know now. Machine time dropped 3.40 hour to 30 minutes, just changing my tool. My first tool data was way too low. And if I changed process to what I know now, I got it to 8 minutes. My first mistake was to take low depth cut and alot side cut. Actually it should be opposite, full cutting length depth and low side cut. Take a look datron cutting tool advice, there is cataloge for them, where is feeds and speeds. It opened hole new world to me. Maybe it will help you too. Nice work by the way! (Y)

@@Villu111 Thank you. I have played around with all the parameters as well with no references. I had a few startup issues where the feed was to fast and the side load too high. This machine has very light duty stepper motors and I am on the limit here. I use a lot of cutting oil to smoothen the blow.
