Hope you have some fancy straps with rubber inside to hold the lines down , u shook the line just now and i can tell it’s gonna rattle , love the progress tho! Maybe put one of those rock lights in the trunk as trunk lights too i think that would make it much nicer the new paint and bright white led lights! Perfect combo! Love the refresh!

I own USA ur quattro 900438 5/82 production, it's well known these cars when hot have issues with fuel system heat soaking, check to make sure your injector cooling fan is working, and that your car has the updated fuel pump relay harness it's possible to have a fire if the fuel pump relay does not have the updated fuel pump relay wiring. Some times replacing the fuel pump accumulator will also fix the issue, but ultimately need to check few other things out also. The early cars have the early style fuse block with ceramic fuses, the fuse box is overloaded without some creative relay and load reduction relays installed to major electrical components. Fuel pump draws the most amps of them all, think the seat heaters would be a concern also my car does not have that option, radiator cooling fan, blower motor, then head lights, running lights. You can install led lights into most of your running lights to reduce load on the system as first easy thing. I would at minimum inspect the wiring at the rear of the fuse box to verify you don't have any burned leads before there is chance for a fire..... Keep us updated what you find
@LORENinHD

I will definitely be checking out the fuel pump relay and fuse box, thanks for the heads up!

Mine has a hot start issue where it will crank for a couple of mins before firing. 85 with WR engine. The seat heaters were removed from mine for some reason, when they had the seats done in leather.

Thanks! Needed this today. Others already commented on the production, and I concur. What I found most amusing though was listening in to all your thoughts about this project. These are at their best in 60-90 km/h twisty territory, and there is always some minor things "off"...I know. Aux lights is on my mind too, for that last season drive in October/November here in the Nordics - that might become a dual 180 mm halogen setup (period correct for the Gr A Coupe with one piece headlamps) or a blacked out LED bar (the easy way out) and have a swappable grille for that. Gradually getting them miles on the car to make it sustainable for a 4-5 day travel sure makes sense! The CIS is a pain in the butt if goes moody, but four areas worth considering is having a new (or atleast checked!) ignition switch + possibly setup your fuel pump with a relay which may in desperate times may be easier to jump to get you going + carry a spare light switch as those suckers overheat with long term usage + rain X. Looking forward to the next chapter! PS! The Blaupunkt retro-DAB is a winner (visually), even if no hardcore audio unit. You can see mine in place here: www.ableitet.no/blaupunkt-bremen-dab/
