Penny the far more talented point guard. Peyton worked his tail off on defense and was effective against many. However, there were quite a few that lit his ass up!

Lebron WASN’T “better” than T-Mac you douche bag. Sit back down and stop talking stop bein a Lebronsexual fanboy.. T-Mac was CLEARLY better than LeBron he showed that EVERY time they faced off, but he had a CAREER dampening back injury at age 25/26. And was never the same. When your back goes, you’re done. No way around it.. From 2002-2004/2005 T-Mac was thee best player in the world.. The NBA was at its best when T-Mac & Kobe were the 2 best players in the game. The NBA circa 2003-before LeBron came into the league and started the downslant of NBA basketball-was thee most talented league there has EVER been.. MJ still with the Wizards and all the best players in the game were all in their prime. T-Mac, Kobe, Vince, Iverson, Garnett, Duncan, Dirk & Finley, Stephon Marbury, ALL in their prime. And Shaq & Chris Webber still at the end of their prime. The NBA was loaded back then. And 40 year old MJ literally playin on 1 leg still puttin up over 20 a game. That was when the NBA was at its best. By FAR. When T-Mac & Kobe were the best players in the game, the NBA was at its best. The viewership, the competition & talent level, all of it.

This is right around the time he got hurt and Kobe took over as the premiere player in the game. After the career dampening back injury he was never the same. When your back goes you’re done.

Lmao. Kobe absolutely was not one of the 2 best players in the league in 2001. He didn’t become one of the 2 best players in the game until him and T-Mac took over in 2002/2003. He wasn’t thee best player in the game until 2004/2005. When T-Mac handed him the torch after the career dampening back injury with the Rockets. And Kobe was the best in the game from then onward to the 2008 Olympics when Wade took the torch for the next 3 years. Every player not named Michael Jordan only has about a 3-4 year stretch when they are ACTUALLY “the best” in the world. The peak of their prime. Kobe was at his peak his last couple years as number 8.. 2006 Kobe was unstoppable. He was leaps and bounds better than he was 5 years earlier in ‘01. Vince was the best player in the world here. Until T-Mac took the torch from him late in ‘02 and then Kobe from him late in ‘04 and so on. This was Shaq’s team in ‘01.. Shaq is who Vince took the torch from this season. Late in 2000, he was the best in the game from 2000-2002, for those 2 seasons. ‘01 & ‘02. Kobe was good sure, you could tell he was GOING to be one of the 2 best players in the game, but he wasn’t YET. Shaq was the other top dog with Vince at this point. And Iverson and T-Mac too. Iverson won the MVP and the scoring title this year cuz he went on a late season tear and Vince had a slump toward the end of the season so he took the scoring lead from him for the overall season. And MVP iverson led that 6ers team to the finals against LA this year. He was a dog.. But like I said, this was SHAQ’s team. Shaq was the 3-time finals MVP in that 3-peat for a reason. Kobe absolutely was NOT better than Shaq in 2001. Not even slightly. Shaq was still at the top of his prime at this point. The previous season was his apex, his peak, and this season he was pretty much just as good. He was 28 here going on 29. Kobe did not take over as LA’s best player until 2003. Late in 2002.. Once Shaq had hit 30 years old and had a knee starting to go out. Kobe was the supporting star that GOT most of the points and shots he got because they were double teaming Shaq and then he’d just dish it to an open Kobe. And literally most of Shaq’s points were offensive putbacks off of Kobe’s bricks. Kobe WASN’T a great shooter at this point. He didn’t become a good outside shooter until 2003. He worked hard on his outside shot in 2002, in that offseason. And that’s when he was entering his prime anyways. 2003 Kobe was better than Shaq, but in 2001 Vince and Shaq were clearly still better than him.

No, YOU were “that dude” up til about this point, about 2005. This is when Kobe took over as the best in the game. T-Mac was the best player in the world from 2002-2004/2005. Everybody knew it. Kobe himself ADMITTED it. If Kobe “beat” him 1v1 it was the straight-out-of-high-school Toronto Raptors T-Mac. Orlando T-Mac always got the best of Kobe…. The NBA was at its BEST when these 2 were the 2 best players in the world and MJ was back with the Wizards. The NBA circa 2003 was the most talented league there has ever been. Prime T-Mac. Prime Kobe. Prime Vince. Prime Iverson. Prime Garnett. Prime Duncan. Still prime Shaq. Prime EVERYONE.
