The link above for the Demo isn't working :( Also. do you have any information on how to be hipaa compliant AND use Honeybook? I'm starting as a doula but will be taking medicaid and tricare. I'll need a CRM that can handle some hipaa compliance or work arounds for that. Any ideas?

OH! I spotted the problem! This full class is now inside my mentorship community: Doula Well. I'm so sorry for that confusion! I didn't update the description. You can find this class and all my free class replays inside my membership community: wedoulawell.com/doulawell/ As far as HIPPA I am not sure to be honest! The info is secure behind a password, I'm not sure what all HIPPA requires.

YES! Thank you! I always set it up this way if there's a tank. And in hospital with no tank, I often rest a birth ball on a bedside commode and it has the same effect.

Can doctor refuse a patient for this reason?
@motherwelldoula2 ай бұрын
They could. And I’ve seen it done. but it’s super risky for doctor to refuse care based on a patient simply declining a recommended treatment.

Ive had 8 home births. 1 hosp only w my first. Im currently pregnant with my 10th and we are planning a hosp birth w a very good OB who has a ton of experience and is open to natural birth very much. Im nervous about being in a hosp. Love the idea of a bathroom cave.

Is there a way honey books can track client’s pregnancy week by week so that when I log in I can see how many weeks pregnant my clients are at anytime I log in?
@motherwelldoula2 ай бұрын
Oh! interesting question! Honeybook does let you know how many weeks out from a 'project date' you are.

I had one last Thursday. They thought my water broke so had to do some testing. Was very uncomfortable and hurt a day afterwards. I plan to talk to a different OB about it Tomorrow. I haven’t seen my original in a month. They keep moving me around.

I had a group B strep test today. My doctor didn't talk to me beforehand at all. I told them no cervical check/pap smear, just the swab. I asked if cervical checks were necessary and he said yes, and I said I was afraid of pain and infection. He and his nurse laughed about me saying that having my cervix touched hurts, and he said "it doesn't risk infection at all". And if I said "no" it would be AMA. He did say I can say no though. But I felt really upset. I felt sore after just a swab and cried alone because they wanted me out ASAP. I had to call my husband to help me calm down, but I'm still shaken and honestly just want to give birth at home if I'm going to be laughed at or not listened to.
@motherwelldoula4 ай бұрын
Oh my goodness!!! :( I am so sorry you had this experience. That is NOT ok. And a simple GBS swab should not be painful. It makes so much sense that you wanted to get out of there. You didn't feel safe! Do you have a plan for your next steps?

Good morning. Thank you for the great content. Would you suggest having a website and honeybook? If yet is there a website building platform you suggest?
@motherwelldoula8 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching and commenting!! I'm glad this video helped you. Ultimately, it would be strongest to have both a website and Honeybook - or another CRM. BUT if you're choosing how to start, I would say begin with a website. Because you can build up SEO and represent yourself. However, you would also be creating your own proposals for services, contracts, and so on. That's where a CRM can help you elevate things really quickly. And for website templates, I like recommending Darcy's templates! douladarcy.com/doula-website-template

I'm planning to train as a doula and this was an awesome and really helpful video! side note -- one reason a baker might want a super cold rolling pin is for things like pastry dough or pie crust. These doughs use a lot of butter, and the trick to getting flaky pastries/dough is keeping the butter really cold right up until the point you put it in the oven. I've actually never seen a rolling pin like this, but I think I'll get one for my mom! she always is stressed that her pie crust is getting too warm lol

@motherwelldoula9 ай бұрын
Oh! Hugs! Nursing school sounds so hard. Truly. I would say there are many ways to work as a doula. The pay would certainly not be competitive with nursing. And many doulas run their own practices; you have to be ready to run a business - or join someone else’s often as a contractor.

Hi! Future doula here and new to your channel. About how many clients do you have in a month or year? I know due dates are essentially just estimations but do you have a cap on how many clients you take if all of their due dates fall within the same month? I hope my questions make sense.
@motherwelldoula10 ай бұрын
Hi! Thanks for your comment!! In my busiest season, I took four clients a month. I only considered the month, not the date. And had good backup! In over 100 clients, I've used a backup doula 3 times for people in labor at the same time - if that helps!
