For video editing, definitely 13 inch, for gaming, if you don’t use a controller, I would prefer the smaller size, it’s easier to hold for longer.

@CHRIS MULLER ? CAN YOU DO A TEST THE SONY ZV1 MARK 2 VS Panasonic Lumix S9 Mirrorless Camera. want to buy a camera don't know which one is better for vlogging ? And to take just regular photos.
@chris-muellerАй бұрын
They’re totally different cameras to be honest, so it’s hard to compare them. S9 will be much more expensive and bigger, so you’d have to be okay with those restrictions, the ZV1 is super convenient since it is very small and comparatively cheap.
@LozsLeisure5 ай бұрын
Hey Chris, thanks for the nice vid! I'm looking to get back into vlogging again and was nicely surprised to see the new and updated version of my trusty ZV-1 - now with a wider lens (THANKFULLY - that crop always sucked). My question is - do you think even with the lack of IBIS that the stabilisation is comparable between the ZV-1 and the ZV-1 II? I really want to have the wider angle but as a bit of a run and gun shooter the stabilisation is key too. My thoughts were that the fact it has some stabilisation and it's wider - maybe together it seems like the stabilisation is broadly similar? I'd love to get your opinion before I commit though! Thanks in advance 🙏

I am trialing the whoop now and have ben an apple with user since day one. But I think the sleep tracking is lacking on Apple, it just doesn’t give me enough help, sos I’m going to use both devices. I have done tests with the heartbeat and they both show the same for me, so I think the whoop is accurate.

Was it a big jump from the 13 mini?...I also have the 13 mini and I'm still deciding between the 15 pro and the max. But from what I've seen, the regular pro's battery life is not that big of a jump from the mini. I also have relatively larger hands so with a thin case the max's size shouldn't be a problem. However, I'm more worried about the pocketability. I don't know whether I should wait for the 16s (i know the pro will be bigger and the max too big😂). The trade-in value of the mini is quite good now and it doesn't seem that this will still be the case in September when the 16s will be unveiled.
@chris-mueller6 ай бұрын
Of course it was :D I am not really the biggest fan of the „regular pro“ size though, as in my opinion, it‘s a little too big to be a small phone, and to small to be a big phone, if that makes sense. So I decided, if I have to give up the mini form factor anyways, I would rather have a phone that is so big that I actually get more of the benefits of a big phone, like the battery life. That being said, carrying it in my pocket is where it is the most annoying, I really don‘t like always feeling it since it is so heavy and big, whereas the mini, I would sometimes not even notice if I had it in my pocket. Even if you lose out on the trade in for your current phone, I would still suggest you wait, since from your comment, it sounds to me like the 16 Pro should be the perfect phone for you 🙂

I think they will solve for that somehow, for example with the Action Button, it doesn‘t activate if you don‘t press it for a little longer. If you don‘t need a new phone right now and can wait, I would wait until September, since at the very least you will be able to get the 15 Pro Max at a discount if you end up not liking the 16 Pro Max.

That is a beautiful tablet. With that new version of the Magic keyboard, this machine would be all I could ever need. The best part of my own 8th-gen iPad is the Smart Keyboard I bought for it. It's faster than the two laptops I used to own (and yes...they were not very good). I always hear from many reviewers that the iPadOS is getting in the way of the hardware in these iPad Pro machines. With all the money you have spent, I hope this machine can do all the things you want to do with it. Myself...I would be annoyed if THIS machine couldn't do what I want.🤣 Congratulations on your first 1,000 subscribers. Wishing you many, many more. Aloha!

Agreed! The crazy thing about iPads is they have been fast for a really long time, it just seems like nobody knows yet how to really use that power. I don’t think at this price point this is something you would buy as just a secondary machine. I think it’s sometimes not even about iPadOS being limited, although that is the common story, but more about having to do things in a different way compared to the Mac, and about whether or not someone is willing to do that. Anyways, so far I really like it, but if I end up not being able to cover most of my needs with it, I will sell it in a couple of months and it will have been a fun experiment. Thank you for your kind words!!

Yeah, similar thoughts with Whoop. I think there is a place for trackers without a screen like Whoop or the rings. Especially with the battery life and ability to wear it in different places, and if one wants to wear a traditional watch instead. But the fitness tracking was a bummer because relying on it to detect is not particularly accurate. It's not the smallest profile tbh; it's smaller than the watch but not by that much. The subscription model turns people off as well unfortunately.

I did get the 12.9, but now I can’t figure out what that “deal breaking” difference was. I just got it yesterday and it’s a nice step up from the iPad Air, but aside from ProMotion, I can’t remember why I wanted to upgrade. This is really disturbing me that I can’t remember. It doesn’t matter now that I own it, but thinking I could have saved money and gotten basically the same performance is upsetting. Thanks Chris. Your story makes me lean toward the 11 inch iPad Pro. I do type a lot, but I have very slim hands, so have no problems with a smaller keyboard. A point is also the use, I see the 12.6 tilting from your lap.. for me that is a major point of inconvenience, as one of the uses is the fact that the ipad will be on my lap very often. I don’t fly, so there’s no point. The only thing that would make me going for the 12.6 is using a video handling program, that is where I am often occupied with. But thanks for posing the right questions, it really helps the decision

That makes sense, but don’t you think it should be fine? The iPad Pro 11“ and iPad Air have similar battery sizes and get similar battery life, probably because the ProMotion display has a variable refresh rate and is not always running at 120hz, plus it can go lower than 60hz to conserve battery.

I thought apple watch is inaccurate when it comes to puls oxymeter as it doesnt measure all the time only when asked and randomly. And massimo, the ones they copied the technololy from, is the only one that measures all the time. What I dnt like about the apple watch is that it is a watch and I hate wearing watches. But it sucks if the measurements are so far away from accurate. Yeah you probably you are not using it for fitness and sleep as most people who probably get into it, but then for what do you even need a fitness/health watch? What you use it for? Also arent the insides of apple and massimo watch too limited? I felt the whoop gives a pretty detailed representation.
@chris-mueller11 ай бұрын
I think this is definitely up to personal preference. I like wearing watches, so the Apple Watch fulfills that purpose and at the same time, gives me an idea of how much I move in a day. So even if I used the WHOOP, I would still want to wear a watch, which makes it more annoying for me. From the scientific tests I've seen, the Apple Watch is pretty accurate when it comes to heart rate, and the pulse oximetry sensor is not something I am that interested in or use often, so it works perfectly for my use case. But the WHOOP might be better for you, if you don't like to wear watches and like the way they represent the data in their app.
@suvisantini971211 ай бұрын
yeah probably just difference in what is important for one. I will look into the Masimo watch, the one that has a dispute with apple right now. They are a pharmatech company and make medical products, so I think their engineering is very good. But I'm still waiting for them to incorporoate more measurements of different kinds as I believe they only have puls oximetry and hydration, heartbeat and steps. And I wanna have some more. Ideal would be one which can also analyse sweat and you can put in information about hormones etc etc@@chris-mueller

For this camera, it's hard to find anything that fits well on it, so I would get something like a DJI Mic (DJI Mic 2 is supposed to come out on Jan 17, so that might be worth waiting for) or Røde Wireless ME or GO II. There is also the Sony ECM-G1, which is at least somewhat small. There are a lot of good mic reviews on youtube, so I would suggest going for the one that sounds best to you, shotgun or lav mics would be best for noisy scenarios.
