Great video! I have been using a 2012 MacBook Pro and its time for an upgrade. Which one do you recommend between MacBook Pro M1 or M2, given that I won’t be upgrading for another 10 years 😅

In general, I like to get the most recent one at the time of purchase, but if you can, for example, get an M1 with upgraded RAM for the same price as the M2, or save a lot by going M1, it might be worth it, since it wasn’t the biggest upgrade.

I like the Air more. Being honest with myself, I simply don't do the tasks the Pro is good at doing. I value the Air's lightness and thinness, too. My M1 Mac Mini is STILL great running macOS and Asahi Linux. Indeed, my M1 runs Linux FAR BETTER than any other machine I own. So...if I got a great deal on an old 13" M1 MacBook Air, I'd be very satisfied with that. Mahalo to you for a real-world comparison between the Air and Pro MacBooks. Thanks for the nice comment! 🙂 Yes, the M1 is still perfect for most tasks, although it might now be worth spending just a little more to get the updated design of the M2. For almost all tasks, they should be fast enough, when I used a MacBook Air M2, I only got it to slow down by video editing or opening too many Chrome tabs 😄

Yeah I prefer the bigger models as well, but for university I really liked having the smaller size. Nowadays, I don't have to carry it around as often so size is not the biggest issue anymore.

@@chris-mueller Thank you for your response. But there are many more reasons for the 16" model. The larger screen, so less scrolling during the work. It is annoying in the end. My wife still uses the last 13" Intel model. If you're so used to the 16", you don't want to miss it anymore. Better cooling and better sound also because of the larger space in the case. I think these were the three main reasons why I chose the 16" model from the start. Servus from Bavaria

Absolutely, I love my 16 inch, especially if you don't connect it to a big monitor, it is so nice to use on the go. I only envy my girlfriend for her 14 inch in coffee shops and on trains or planes, where the 16 inch doesn't fit as easily on tray tables 😄 Greetings from BaWü!! 😃
