This sonata is Beethoven mocking affectation!

This sounds like the journey you start when you have lost the one who you loved the most, and you'd been betrayed again and again. The first stage: grief. The second: recovery. The third: when you flourish, but you're never the same person, with occasional trauma response but also strength. Brilliant, the transition from one movement to the next one totally matching the emotional states they provoque.

Beautiful performance. He has not previously been on my radar but I will definitely be listening to Zimmerman in the future. A truly singing tone on the piano, like his, greatly impresses me - the piano being basically a percussion instrument.

I just compared this recording with another famous pianist. No comparison, this is alive and furious - Meistro Beethoven in the room, right here, right now. Gratitude. ❤️

I suppose it's a balance knowing when to subvert and when to submit in art, in this and Moonlight there's a perfect balance.

The spirit of sounds of Mozart’s music will have been crystallizing themselves wonderfully as well as fantastically with the melodies both harmoniously and exquisitely woven of Beauty and Simplicity eternally in the hearts of Mozart lovers around the world.

I'm sure this was a very proud and memorable recital sir. It's certainly a very resounding and dramatic piece and I am inclined to be certain her performance was equally well performed. May God bless you and keep your memories fond and sincere such as this.

I like Barenboim as a political agent in the world, as a conductor with Perlman at the helm, and for all kinds of reasons, but you cannot even compare him to Schnabel's reading of the Pathetique. I'm not trained enough to see through the reasons why Schnabel is so much better at this. Not just dexterity, either, though that is obvious. I'm sorry, peasants should not comment and I am one. This is one of my favorite Beethoven's. Now let's compare it with Jerry Lee Lewis playing "Roll over Beethoven". Which would you prefer?🤪🤪🤪
