The first time I heard this song it was being played on weak FM station in San Diego. We could barely hear it, but it was powerful. Took we a while to find the album in a record store, but I did and I still have it after 50 years.

First saw in SKEWEN RUGBY CLUB, in 1972, hooked after that. What made it extra special, was that the great SPENCER DAVIES was over from Hollwood( visiting his Mam!) and played "I'M A MAN" with the Boys!!! What a treat!

Thank HEAVENS it isn't that whinging testicle looking walking piece of flabby excrement named "Billy Corgan" doing his "vocals" on this track. A more punchable face has rarely existed in music; even within the whimpering, bedwetting world of simpering queefs known as "alternative rock" (the ultimate Gen X creation; cringeworthy teen angst and edgelord tears set to badly played music!) there has rarely been such a grotesque manchild.

Why they hooked up with Alex Harvey no doubt. Amazing band but weak on the singing front. Harvey certainly added the missing ingredient.
