Recently I have seen a lad in a league game walking over with every dart thrown. I dont understand how that can be fine with the rules, even if he releases before his foot touches the ground he can easily reduce the distance to the board a lot.

Hi Wayne you probably won't see this but I would love to send you a video of my throw and have you tell me everything I'm doing wrong. Is this at all possible please 🙏

Well explained! I brought the stance with the balance point from shooting with the air riffle. There you are stable on 2 legs while here is one leg a stabiliser and keep just 10% of your weght while the 90% is on your front leg (right hand, right leg)

I had been wondering about this & whether it is even a legal throw considering they are over the oche before they’ve released their dart.

James Wade doesn't walk on the last dart but he may have followed through recently 🤣

Some food for thought: I bet most people who hit their first ever 180 didn't walk on their last dart. Because they were so focused on throwing the dart the same as the first two. When it becomes normal you walk on similar to your not so good darts!

I guess another factor is that when you have thrown a million darts like Michael and Ryan Searle (another walker, it seems ;) ) it's complacency. But, by walking on the third dart... you just gave up the benefit of your two "markers". I like the time and focus Peter Wright always seems to have. And my favorite of all time.... John Lowe, very patient and deliberate thrower.

I used to put all of my weight on my forward foot. Since making the shift to a balanced, even stance I've improved my game considerably. Thanks Wayne!
@thadonis.Ай бұрын
Purely hypothetical and crazy.. What if you were able to master the walk throw? So you could release the dart a fraction of a second before your walking foot fouls by touches down. Then repeat the process for the next 2 darts? If its allowed on the last dart, why not the first 2? With practice you could be 2 foot closer to the board. Hell, the likes of Dom Taylor could place em in. Guess it doesn't keep with the spirit of the game, but would fun to watch until he got banned doing it.

The most natural way for me is like picking up a pencil or pen and holding it, so when I hold my darts it’s the same just feel natural if that makes sense

Can you coat your points with something to grip the board better. Not enough to ruin the board just a light coating off something
@fukusushi3467Ай бұрын
I tried a point called punk points they grip the board incredibly well, been 6 months and the board is no worse than it would be with normal points

A have a stabbing type of throw action and can’t extend the arm which causes major inconsistencies any advice for this?

Any advice on how to stop completely losing your technique every time you start playing and going back to square one? For example on Saturday I played for a few hours and managed to get to the point where I was barely missing 20s at all. I played the next day and forgot how I was throwing, meaning I was back to hitting terrible throws like 26,11,7 etc

I second that. One day I was throwing properly. Next day it was like I forgot how to throw

@biggeordie245Ай бұрын
Relax your muscles. It’s hard to shake if you are relaxed, keep the grip loose, knees straight but not locked. Many nervous pros are now “throwing” phantom darts before throwing for real.
