Hey man nice video. So ive got a question, i bought an 05 tc at 120k miles last December, (i love it), but i noticed while watching your video i think i have the same problem that you said, that is the rear strut. I know little about cars, but it sounds like clunking of some sort from the rear at lower speeds. So what does this mean? Thanks!
@mkecarconnection3808Күн бұрын
So clunking could either be rear struts or in my case I discovered that it was the bushing for the sway bar itself. I would check all the bushings. When I did the rear end work, I did struts and sway bar links. It kept clunking at low speeds and that’s when I noticed the two bushings in the center of the car that hold up the sway bar itself were shot. Easy to replace. Replaced them and it’s been perfect three years later

You should really get rid of those mirrors. You're not fast enough to not have to worry about drivers overtaking on the freeway... and you already know car drivers get weirdly competitive when they see someone on a bike.

I bought my 2022 plug in hybrid a day ago. I fully charged it overnight and when I checked the range of the car the next morning it only showed me 14miles of range on a battery that’s fully charged. Should I go to the dealer and ask them about it or is there something I’m doing wrong?
@mkecarconnection38089 күн бұрын
The number adjusts based on the driving style of the last few miles. It’s the same with mpg and distance till empty. Charge it full, clear the trip computer and drive it till it empty’s and check the trip computer! The rental I had showed 16 miles of range but after I kept driving it, it adjusted to mid 20s

Kind of a Biden voter thing, claiming everything didn’t go up in price
@mkecarconnection380815 күн бұрын
Yeah idk they bow are saying that customers wanted more uniform pricing but I think it’s bs. Last time I went I pulled a door for a car and removed the window, door panel, window regulator, switches and even the speaker. They still tried charging me for the entire thing and I went back and forth for 15 min before the manager said okay fine you win.

It's called price gouging. Everybody and their mother are buying cars from copart to rebuild on KZbin. Also bringing up the bidding and price of the vehicle. That's why Trump says he loves the uneducated. They blindly belive everything he says. Like a cult
@mkecarconnection380815 күн бұрын
I feel like people are getting better deals on copart cars cause insurances are also more inclined to total out cars in recent years from what I’ve seen. My last bmw that got totaled after being rear ended, bmw quoted 22k to fix it. My mechanic looked at it and said a sus shop would scoop it up, replace the bumper, use a frame machine to pull out the crumpled spare tire well, replace a few sensors and call it good. Cheap fix. The trunk wasn’t damaged really, the quarter panels didn’t fold and the tail lights were fine. Bumper took the brunt of the hit.

If its still on run flats, ditch them and the ride will be much more compliant, if you need to replace the shocks check out Koni special actives, or sports...either work beautifully on this chasis and if your looking for a power bump you can swap the intake with a bmw 3 stage intake which will bolt on and enjoy a 25-30hp power bump
@mkecarconnection380822 күн бұрын
It has non run flats so I'll be grabbing a spare tire kit from a modern Spare. The sturts and shocks were replaced right before I got it and I'm looking at that 3 stage intake! I just want to make sure maintenance is good before it gets more money spent on it!
@chriscockrell71121 күн бұрын
@@mkecarconnection3808 Your just about set then, already in the sweet spot. Its almost better buying one at 100k range because usual,ly the 80k maintanance has been taken care of. There is alot of maintanance at around 80k, I just got finished doing it and I learned how to do much of it myself with the help of bimmerforum membmers, youtube and Protool. I cant recommend that app enough it will save you time and money big time. You can do the easy coding, and more advanced and really customize how you want the car to behave and get the most out of its features not to mention the diagnostic ability, clearing codes... The N52 engine is hands down my favorite, incredibly smooth. I just swapped my oem wheel style 338 for style 157, and those wheels are about 8lbs lighter at each corner reducing the rotational weight, unsprung mass yada yada, it really makes it feel lighter on its feet and improves handling and acceleration. Best of luck! Enjoy that engine and chasis its one of the best ever.

Was your car experiencing issues with accelerating before hand ? And did it improve engine performance?
@joey86bu128 күн бұрын
@@dramatimefighting I had an O2 sensor trigger the engine light. Changed the O2 sensor so that took care of the engine light but the scanner still showed EVAP related codes (yes I tried to delete them). Drove it till I got the gas tank down to 4 gallons then checked the scanner again and the codes were still there. Put CC in the gas tank, took it for a 40 miles drive on the highway in a lower gear (2500-3500 rpms), filled it up, took it back to the house, went to bed, checked the scanner the next morning and it was all green and no codes. MPG so far has improved by 2 mpg and it drives better. Ya acceleration was hesitant before, much better now.
