also, having the headphone and XLR/TRS sockets right there on the front is REALLY handy! That and the USB interface are the main reasons I went with the UV-1 over the 286s.

I just bought a brains… hadn’t arrived yet… can you explain how you externally get the module to shift oscillator voices? Is this done with control voltage ? Can you describe your patch? Loved the video, sounds and demo… liked and subscribed
@GavddotcodotukАй бұрын
sure thing! You'll love the Brains! The Brains has a CV input "model" that selects the voice. It doesn't switch between banks, so it stays in the bank you've selected. I found it a little unstable/imprecise; sometimes a certain voltage would give voice 4, sometimes voice 5 (for example). That unpredictabiliy manifests more on my video "Beatbrains" kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4OnY2dmraqif6s where I try to switch between the drum voices (snare, hat, FM, kick) and sometimes it would pick an unexpected voice. Perhaps if I tuned the CV more precisely, it would be more consistent. The patch in this demo is an Oberkorn analog sequencer which has 3 lanes of voltages and 2 gates per step. I'm triggering the Brains' built-in LPG (low pass gate) rather than using an external VCA+envelope from one of the gates. I'm using the 3 voltage lanes to set 1) model (voice) 2) v/oct (pitch) and 3) the morph. Enjoy your Brains! It's a great module

@Gavddotcodotuk2 ай бұрын
could be an awful lot of things TBH. If you're connecting via RF (standard master system 2 is RF only) and there's no sound, I'd suspect it's the MS2 itself. I'd go through a process of elimination seeing if I could connect anything else over RF, then I'd open up the MS2 and try an audio probe similar to www.reddit.com/r/diypedals/comments/pc18ut/how_to_make_an_audio_probe_and_use_it_for/?rdt=48846

I've looked through my old orders and can't find the precise model but it's something like this www.bax-shop.co.uk/keyboard-stands/innox-kb-120-mkii-keyboard-stand - I think it's exactly that one actually. I then bought some additional arms to mount more gear on it. It's a standard tubing size (1 1/4 inch or something?) so there's a lot of stuff that can mount on it. It's on half price at the moment - £87 - which really is a bargain. It's fairly sturdy for home studio use
