I got in early doors on the whole KZbin thing! Only used it much the last 5 years though, it's just a bit of fun for me :-)

why dint u desolder the new usb thing and resolder it directly to the board??

Good question! I could have done but the board was a mess. The USB jack emerged from a chunky plastic housing and got very fatigued. It was hard to get into the Raspberry Pi, which is a tight fit. The extension gives it a bit more room to manoeuvre.

The other reason is there’s a capacitor right on the board and I don’t want to risk melting it! I guess I could have desoldered it first
