Proves what ive been twlling people is absolutely correct. The gt wheels are more prone to not working. Event he new own for the dd+ i tell people about it. Yet you get a mclaren or anything else and it works fine. Its why when i got my dd+ I did not get the gt wheel thrre was all sorts of issues even with that newer one. I was like its gotta be the wheel even if fanatec doesnt want to tell people. What do you know! It actually is. But I really did know it already. Ive seen it over and over again. So happy for you man at least you know its not broken and yeah was worth it. Def imo a better dd wheelbase then the t598 also. Especially if you get a boost kit.

Great for nobody thats ever used a dd. But not great for people who have. Its def smooth but imo you need some friction if you have none alot of issues can arise like monestop shaking etc. Regardless you also cant feel the loading and unloading as well as other dd wheelbases. Its just not as good as most other dd wheelbases. Listen azial flux could have been used a long time ago in the dd world but was chosen not to be used for a reason. When at this size for smaller motors its much cheaper and lighter but it also is well cheaper and thats why they chose it. They then used the smoothenss sales pitch. Also if you palce any other thrustmaster wheel on it. The thing crumbles and ends up feeling like a 2nm wheelbase another issue with having no friction. It cannot maintain the weight and it isnt good at changing directions. The slew rate on this thing is so low. Axial flux is not a good motor for sim racing. I hope no other brand uses it going oh we can make more profit and buy something cheaper to use lol. Then over hype it and oversales pitch it. People will dall for it! Thrusnaster is known for curting corners and cheaping out on hardware. They should have uses a 5nm version of a servo like the t818 thats a good dang feeling dd wheelbase.

This is why buying real copies and not digital is the last way to stick it to them .

I used to have a CSLDD before I got my Simagic Alpha, and I think they're excellent wheelbases. Yeah, I don't see why you would stick with that Thrustmaster thing if you've already got a CSLDD or a DD Pro there tbh. They're already really good. They just feel very realistic. And have true 8nm peaks and better wheels by far

Agreed, I would have loved to keep the T598. At the moment, being lifted the GT DD Pro, I would have just replaced the wheel. The way I would have gone with CSL DD R2R bundle or base and piecing it together. That's exactly what I did with just buying the wheel and hub. I am definitely getting another one in the future eventually. I'm glad you enjoy the wheel, I hope my video helped or aligned with some of your experiences good or bad. i guess it depends what you want, i had the T300RS and for me the T598 was a good upgrade but i guess not for everybody. For example i never used the clutch pedal on my T300RS, never used the shifter, only the paddle shifters. I also only play in VR, so i dont see the "bad" quality of the wheel which is true, its not great, the buttons are cheap and they sometimes dont react but i am ok with that. I see it this way, i like it that thrustmaster made the wheel itself bad to keep the costs of the overall set down. The base is nice, yes its taller and its not machined aluminium like the Fanatec GT DD pro but its still a heavy block of cast metal and its the new axial motor technology. The pedals are not bad either, i like it. So its only the wheel that is really not so good but i am coming from the T300RS, it has a crappy wheel either and the quick release of the T598 is miles better, it feels solid and nice, not over machined like the Fanatec, thats why the fanatec is alot more expensive.

I have tried drifting in gt7 and it’s really difficult I ended up giving up for bit and maybe coming back to it later . It took me while to realise that I needed a manual gearbox in the car so that I could use the clutch with h pattern shifting. You done a great job getting the fanatec sorted. 👍

I’m having a great time with my 598

Just had the same issue on a new one. The fix is to actually not overtighten those two Allen key bolts that clamp on and also push it back but not all the way as per stated on the manual. After adjusting those mine was good to go. I also tightened the bolts on my wheel that hold on the quick release as I noticed they got a bit loose.

I really like your homemade sim rig and don’t worry your health will improve. I am autistic and deaf ( partially) I have spinal damage, plus two years ago I came of my moterbike and broke 4 ribs and punctured my right lung. When the ambulance took me to hospital the scan found cancer in my left kidney, so about 2 years ago I had my kidney removed and now I don’t have cancer anymore. I repaired my moterbike and named it after my great grandmother Lilly. And then got another bike to play on. At the moment I have retired from the bikes but still have them. And last summer I built a classic mg midget to make. Music video. I am 62 years old and still love life even with all the pain it has brought at times. Stay strong and as always I am sending best wishes for you and your loved ones. I have a few videos if you ever get chance to see them, I only make them to record memories.

Personal experience from the T598, it is definitely worth a go. Soon as the software and full compatibility with PS4/ PS5 it should be good. I do miss the drag from the belt. It felt like almost road texture (slightly felt resistance hydro powersteering) T598 is more (electronic powersteering) feel light and electronic assisted. Besides having to set it up via P.C. it is a base to consider. I would buy all over again.

You maybe a actual answer for repair and DIY for some wheel for people who can't or don't want to spend on a well know issue that is not common for individuals fresh coming in.

You may hate to hear this. But those pS WHEELS from fanatec have issues like this more them others. Most of the time people go buy a different wheeel geta there and guess what torque issues gone. Same for the dd+ the gt wheel is worse and has torque issues. Get mclaren and boom works perfectly. No joke

I am going to wait as I don’t have a pc, I use a Mac downstairs for my music video and mixing. I need to just plug and play so hopefully the t598 will be ready for gt7 without having to use a pc to update the wheel soon.
