Hey I appreciate it. I am looking for a "multi-vitamin" for my dog and cat. I know my cat can eat the mice, but I don't know about my dog. She is 8 and I am not trying to kill her. But these pinkies look clean, I just see on Google that eating dirty rodents can be harmful.

This works in this case, but it's not quite right. The live wire (black) should go to the bronze terminal or the one with the bronze screw, which is the center post on the socket. The common wire (white) goes to the silver terminal or the one with the silver screw. This goes for any household switch, outlet or socket you wire. I like to wire my basking lights to a smart dimmer switch and the UVB and LED get wired to a regular smart switch, then the basking temp can be dialed in and everything is on a timer. If you decide to try that route you'll need taller boxes to mount the sockets to so the wiring can fit inside.
@ks_monitors7640
@ks_monitors7640 Жыл бұрын
The live wire, which is the black wire, is connected to the bronze screw. I’ve been wiring my lights this way for years; if I had the wires backwards the bulb would not come on or some kind of malfunction would occur. The black goes with bronze & the silver with white. Thank you for your advice!

Argus monitors are food driven there’s no way around that it’s part of there nature best thing to do is stay consistent when it comes to the bond your creating while feeding also spend time with him when your not feeding to let him know your not just the food source it’s going to take time but it can be done. Lay a brick a day if u can’t pick him up when your not feeding then take baby steps by rubbing him small interactions are good trust the process most important don’t force it respect goes along way with monitor lizards especially a Argus they can cause a lot of damage they are one of the more powerful species if not the most powerful in terms of sheer power. Hopefully this helps bro!

The sky is the limit the bigger the house the more space I’ll have to give to my monitors I’m shooting for 12 foot enclosures minimum.. with huge water features in both enclosures. As far as the pond size 3 to 4 feet in length is always a good starting point for a medium to large size monitor I wouldn’t go any smaller

What do you think about feeding raw chicken and eggs?
@ks_monitors7640
@ks_monitors7640 Жыл бұрын
I feed raw chicken feet & necks for added calcium even tho it’s soft bone it’s still a good calcium source make sure the chicken has no preservatives or hormones don’t buy the cheap chicken brand. high quality food items is key read the package carefully & your basking temps need to be on point when feeding chicken the hotter the better As far as raw eggs go I’m not a fan I don’t incorporate raw eggs in my monitors diet if u want to feed eggs boil them & feed it to your monitor whole!

Awesome size. I dont see a cool area if the enclosure. I think u haould look into heat emitters instead if so many bulbs, also get better uvb bulbs, those arent as efficient as tubes
@ks_monitors7640
@ks_monitors7640 Жыл бұрын
Hey man! I think you should go check out more of my newer videos! Everything that you pointed out has already been tweaked. 🙌🏽 I use multiple lower watt flood lights to not only heat the entire enclosure but to also maintain healthy temperatures and levels of humidity throughout the day/ night. He does have a cool spot beneath his basking spot, since it’s elevated. The entire other half of the enclosure, where his water vessel is (about 4 feet in total) is also a cool spot. Another fun fact is that I insulated the enclosure and also run a singular heat emitter 24/7. I did this because, in my experience, heat emitters are not as effective for heating when used in larger enclosures. I use my emitter, plus the insulation, for a small boost to maintain proper ambients (85 to 88 degrees) but that’s about it. There’s no way that I’d be able to heat an enclosure of this size with only a few floods. Trust me, trial and error has taught me this lesson. Even at a higher wattage, if I used less bulbs, I wouldn’t be able to heat the entire enclosure and it would also lead to me compromising basking space. Charmander is over 4 feet long so he needs to be able to heat his entire body length without being cramped under a few bulbs and without his tail hanging off. Not to mention, I have a misting system to keep my humidity where it needs to be. This is another reason why I use so many bulbs; it’s all about balance when it comes to creating the perfect atmosphere for a reptile to thrive in. I understand how it can look like a lot but trust me…there’s a method to my madness and my ability to maintain what works best for Chamander. 🤙🏽

Hey, thanks for posting, I made a 2400 X 900 X 800 for my python I had at the time. I found it was to big and the python would just stay in its hide. I am building another one 2000 X 600 X 800 its going well and I will be installing a huge water retreat so I will be putting a level above the water for an extra basking area. I have the same thoughts, I don't like small enclosures but sometimes its what the animal likes to feel secure. I will post my build soon along with the big girl
