I can't believe how well it does right out of the box. It's ride height makes it slightly more trail then rock crawler, but it holds its own forsure. Nice having the 2-speed transmission you can shift on the remote!
@kmason31994 күн бұрын
@@rccampingandcrawling I am leaning towards this as a first mini even though it might be more for trail
@rccampingandcrawling4 күн бұрын
@kmason3199 if you like scale looks and functionality, this one is on top of my list. You are correct, it's not technically the best rock crawler. I would say the redcat 18 is, with the TRX4M being a mid point of crawler and trail truck. That being said, I am very interested to see what the aftermarket comes up with for modifications for this HPI, I could see it climbing pretty well! Thanks for watching! Happy RC'in!

So, I am running 59 mm injora shocks and I’d like to know whether you would recommend this is with my RCAWD portal axles? Also, do you fit the pin spring inside of the shark or over the shaft with the spring?
@rccampingandcrawling9 күн бұрын
I have never ran the RCAWD portals myself, so I cant really comment on those. However, If your running the 59mm Injora, you should be able to swap to the heavier 0.5mm spring that comes with them. Add the shock oil, then adjust the collar on the shock down on the right rear making the right rear shock much siffer then the rest. This should eliminate the torque twist almost completely. You'll need to play with the shock spring tension until you find a happy medium between zero torque flex and shock movement. As for the ballpoint pen trick, the spring goes inside the shock, acting like a separate spring. I would recommend this if you have a bunch of scale accessories on it , or a heavy camera like my set up. It will make the shocks very still though.
@seafly8459 күн бұрын
How do you overcome torque twist?
@rccampingandcrawling9 күн бұрын
Great question, it was a real problem. I ended up making the suspension very stiff, using a ball point pen! I created a short about it here: kzbin.infoq6aHyBUiAdw?si=Y7MdYSp5mUF4pJ4y For my other TRX4Ms I found upgrading the shocks fixed it. Either the Injora or Treal oil filled with the adjustable ring.

Indeed a nice, small RC car that you can always take with you on small adventures. I mainly use all my TRX4M cars to play and drive around the house and rarely take them outside. Beautifully filmed from beautiful camera angles which makes it look nice and realistic. 🆒🎦👌💪👍👋
