Ok love Fronius machines! Best welders i have ever used. I also have the 230i and a transsteel2700. But I use the pedal because that's what in used to also use a ckworldwide torch. It's just what I'm comfortable with.

I really love the perspective you bring to this video. I can't wait to see how this series works for you! You've done a great job of introducing terminology without making the subject feel unapproachable. I absolutely love the "holding a star hand" concept.

Thank you very much. I really appreciate it. I really hope to do the wonderful skill of welding justice and hopefully I can introduce it in a way that is accessible and friendly and lower the barrier of entry.

I’m a professional welder (union boilermaker for 15 years) and this is a great video. Good explanation, simple, clear, and to the point, it’s basically exactly what I tell new welders and random people who ask about my job.

Love this and your series idea! Can you please talk about the space too? I have a space I can make into a workshop but I have no clue on what a space need to be safe for metalwork (walls, floors, roofing and the building itself). Love your videos, thank you for sharing! ❤

Jason looking forward to seeing this series. My son is currently enrolled in welding in highschool and already has several certs. I look forward showing him this series once it comes out he has watched several of your past mystery box builds. Bummer you are always on call 24\7. What are the chances of bringing back some live streams? I always enjoyed sitting in on those and was enjoyable to see your thought process while you were doing the mystery box builds .
@JasonHurst2 ай бұрын
Thank you 🙏 it means a lot to me that you showed your Son my old mystery box series. I love that he is in welding school and enjoying it! We seriously need skilled welders and he will have no shortage of work. My work schedule is a pain but that is life and it keeps a roof over our heads and food on the table so I am blessed. I am slowly trying to position myself at my work where I can keep a studio schedule and I am Definitely planning on doing livestreams again. I am still gaining momentum after my time away from content creation and art so as I get all the details worked out I will ramp up production. Thank you again for watching and sharing my work. It means more than you know.

this was very cool Jason. I got laid off and went to welding school. Thought id do it for a living, yeah that didnt pan out and was not fun like i thought. I enjoy this perspective, i am getting ready to start some minor metal casting myself but will look forwards to your video on what can be tig welded. I now aluminum, steel and stainless, but im curious can brass and copper be tig welded as those are my metals of choice. Keep up the great work and its so good to have you back
@JasonHurst2 ай бұрын
Thank you Ken. Hopefully I can shine a fun light on metalworking and welding for you. Yes you are correct, tig welding is perfect and the preferred method for welding bronze, brass and even copper. Most foundries that investment cast professional art use tig welding to assemble the cast pieces into the final sculpture. It’s an amazing process. Thank you for watching

If you want to start with the real beginners , you really need to explain the very basics of what different metals can offer in the way of appearance , finish , shape and workability . For art it is more about form than function so focus on those aspects . Artists ( esp very good artists like yourself ) are after an effect and tools and materials are ways to get there . Most people I talk to who have never worked with any kind of metal are surprised it can be cut or bent or joined up ( yes all crazy to us ) but they do not yet know so you can really help them getting right back to super basics which I'm sure you are very very well versed in .
