You guys climbed too fast. You should have started your tour from San Pedro de Atacama, spend few days there and possibly take Diamox too (125mg twice a day to prevent altitude sickness). Poor judgement and bad planning make you lose thousands of $$. Glad she got better in the end and wasn't serious. Altitude sickness is no joke

How cool is that. We walked the same path through the shops to reach the Kochi Castle after leaving the Diamond Princess Cruise ship and enjoyed the same views of the cherry blossoms surrounding the castle on the same day. We did opt to climb to the top of the castle as well.

So fun to see what we missed while on the same cruise. We opted for the Mikimoto Island Pearl museum and live demonstration of pearl divers. From Mikimoto Island we could also see the cruise ship out in the bay.

This was most interesting as we were on the same Diamond Princess Cruise ship and this was its inaugural visit to Himeji. We also climbed the steps all the way to the top and enjoyed the stunning cherry blossoms that were in full bloom. We did make it to the gardens though and have lots of photos from that day both at the castle and in the gardens. Watching the video I kept expecting to see us in the background. :)

You need at least three days to visit both sides. At Brazilian side, visit the Bird Park and them the water falls. At Argentinian side, go to Devil's Throat and go in a boat under the water falls as well. There are also more atractions at both sides such as a safary in the Atlantic Rain Forest or abseiling on the canyons around the water falls. Check about that when is the rainy season so the water falls will be biger and stronger.
