Verticle mixers will not, can not produce TMR ration. Mix your load, then add 1 gallon of salt in 1 dump at the front of the tank. Mix for 5 min, and go to the feed bunk. Pull 4 to 10 samples in ice cream bucket. Test for NACL You will be disappointed.

Vertical mixers can and do produce a TMR ration. We have hundreds out that do it everyday. Thanks for your input though, to each their own.

If you run big bulls thru there I bet u look under your floor and it’s bent at front where animals feet are. Mine is on load bars like that and it keeps bending already on third floor

@@NorheimRanching is it possible to get/see video of that being done. A lot of people seem to be starting to raise highland cattle now. I watched a lot of those videos & have seen a few highland cattle being treated in head locks but don't seem to have good control of the animals head & horns, which makes it hard on the vet & animal as well. If there was a way to help with that I'm sure all involved would be much happier!

😁 Only 2 -3 batches. hehe Dang i guess the mixer i would need i guess isnt invented yet if i win the lottery and buy a 3400 cow diary farm thats for sale. 🤣 But if i am so lucky i plan to buy a big self loading mixer vagon + a seperate bale grinder that shred bales in to piles i can load from. Since yes the mixer is able to crush the bale, but you often have to mix quite a bit to get rid of all the LUMPS if its say a stringy haylage bale. Ore maybe i wount use much bales at all. 😃 in the video-pics it lookd like they currently used mostly BIG SILO piles + some AG-BAGS. hehe

Having used two of these crates for a number of years on a 500 cow herd, I would suggest you reduce the width of the crate before you let them in and it will reduce the movement, like putting your hand in a glove.

I would recommend putting your vaccines and tools close to chute , your wasting a lot of time walking around
@NorheimRanching3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the suggestion and I definitely agree with you. There is actually a pole just off screen that the table sits against with all of our 'stuff'. It's just close enough that moving the table closer to the chute makes it awkward for moving around the fence and gates (especially when there are 2-4 of us working). We also plug in a heating pad there for winter vaccinations to keep the needle tips from freezing (Canada problems lol) I'm currently looking at getting a cooler that can sit closer to the chute and then keep the records, extra tags, etc on the table by the pole.

Whats the entire system worth ? from RFID reader to loadbars and readout and chute ? Are you happy with the scale readout or are there other features you would want. do a video on the scale and monitor!!

Hi Heather. I can get you a full quote on the entire set up if you are interested. The scale system is awesome and I'll do a video with more focus on it this month. We're running cows through the chute in a couple of weeks, so I can get some good videos for you. Visit the contact page on our website if you'd like some detailed info norheimranching.com

@NorheimRanching3 жыл бұрын
We really like the parallel squeeze. Arrowquip has made it so easy to operate that I wouldn't go with a different style. If you're looking at a QCatch chute, go for the 87 series. The price difference is minimal and you get all of the options that you want, including a built in vet cage.

Loading them with a grapple destroys the water shedding ability. Can they be speared on end, and pushed to the front?
@NorheimRanching6 жыл бұрын
You can load them from the side or from the back. We generally load the first 5-6 from the side and the last 2-3 from the back, but have customers who load all from the side or all from the back
