I dream of traveling the Mediterranean in- or after October, since I heared my brother who lived in Rome at that time, gushing over the Italian Autumn time. He spoke about huge sweet grapes, a fuller, more colorful light and a much calmer pace, and a so much nicer weather. The locals catching their breath so to speak, after the madness of high summer. Again and again all kind of other dreams made my "to do now", and so, I still dream about it. I guess I'll plan for this now, on purpose. Thank you, both of you! When you look at it, you realise that it is a colossal waste of time and money. The ETA and ETIAS systems that is. Especially if you are a Brit or an EU citizen wishing to travel between the UK and the EU. A few years ago neither existed and we all got along just fine... So, is there a need for these systems ? Does it allow us to track immigrants and prevent them overstaying ? no. Does it act as a deterrent to people smuggling and "small boat" people crossing the channel ? no. Do these systems cost a lot of money to implement and maintain ? YES ! Does it add to the costs of tourism ? Yes. Does it deter regular tourist travel ? yes. Does it damage the economies of the UK and the EU ? yes.

Enjoyed this very much but also realize it was made 2 years ago. We've done several Viking cruises and we have already paid for any extra excursions BEFORE we get on the ship. Therefore it is not a surprise. Also, you can bring alcohol on board and bring to your stateroom. So you could make your cocktail, etc., prior to going to your port talk. So really, unless you decide to drink a huge amount, you should have too much of a surprise when you get off the ship.

This is full of half-truths. Viking has a wide array of room sizes from 700sf to 135sf. Truck is all complementary but it's built into the price. Viking gives you a free city tour but other tours cost 40 the 80 $. This video is very misleading.

The UK ETA site can be a bit clunky. It often freezes, probably due to online demand. I tried using both a desktop and my cel phone, after repeated drop outs, and the desktop was a lot easier, especially when it came to uploading my passport info page. The response came through within 10 minutes.

You can also apply for UK ETA online from a computer, but your photos need to be JPEG only. They will not accept PDF's. If you fly into Heathrow or Gatwick and have a connecting flight to another European destination, you still need to get the UK ETA or you they will not let you board the connecting flight. If you are traveling to Ireland, you do not need an ETIAS yet, but you will need the ETA to go from Ireland to Northern Ireland if you are a Canadian or US citizen.

Imagine that, the same hoops that UK passport holders have to jump through by being made to apply for and pay for ESTA for the USA and the Canadian ETA for Canada. Also the ESTA fee for the USA is a bit more than £10 too. UK passport holders will also need an ETIAS for Europe when it goes live too. No complaints from me as a UK passport holder and personally I think it's about time the UK set up its ETA.

I just took my first Holland America cruise and have sailed many times with Celebrity. I don’t so sided then in the same league at all- Celebrity is a class act with great shows which is sorely missing on 26:42 Holland America. I think the food is much better on Celebrity too. Just my 2 cents- it was cheaper to book a similar cruise in Holland
