Great videos! I found the Virginia Creeper Trail through your trail and took a friend with me in 2023. It was amazing!! I'm hoping it will get the needed repairs after the hurricane last year so more people can enjoy it. Keep the videos coming and have fun out there!

Last month, I met you in the Mendota Trail parking lot just after you had recorded your intro. I haven't seen a Mendota Trail video, so I am curious about your experience. I hope you didn't find it too rough to tackle. Looking forward to more of your videos.

The stretch between Leesburg and Purcellville is pretty. One of my favorite bike trails. Especially in the autumn. The power lines appear as you go east of Leesburg are ugly…. and Dominion Energy cuts back the trees severely so there is no shade (east of Leesburg). Going east, after you cross I-495 it’s one street crossing after another. Solo females users be street smart careful. There have been numerous assaults on the trail during the 31 years I lived adjacent to it ending in 2020.

I enjoy your videos. However, I ride a recumbent trike and this trail was a horrible ride. I can see that it would be a nice ride on a bicycle because of the single tracks. If you have recumbent trike where you need a wider path, this trail does not qualify as a good ride. The number 2 stones make it rough. It loosen several bolts on are recumbent trike.

Between Whitetop and Damascus there were 32 bridges and trestles. All but one was destroyed or badly damaged by the floods from Hurricane Helene. It will be years before that part of the trail is usable again. If ever.

Tom, is that you?! Bill Booz from VSTE days here. Have watched several of yours and Gretchen’s videos without realizing who you were. This one just came up in my feed. Very nicely done. I recently got an e-bike from Bikes Unlimited and have been riding our collection of trails almost daily. Need to get trailer hitch and heavy duty rack so I can explore other trails. Are you aware of any trail advocates here in Lynchburg? I’d like to promote the further work on development of proposed trails to extend BWC Trail as described in the master plan.

Yes, that’s me. Gretchen and I love to ride bikes. During the pandemic, we could not stand sitting at home. So we took our camper around Virginia doing these videos! Bent on Bike Trails was hatched! Glad you got a bike. It is so important to keep moving as we age and biking is a good exercise for old joints and bones! Parks and Rec are in charge of the bike trails. I don’t think there is a single person in charge. Just call the Director with questions you have. Take care and ride on!

@@BentOnBiking - Tom, thanks for responding. You two have certainly covered a lot of ground! Enjoy your videos. Too bad there wasn’t more foresight when the railroad was abandoned part of which is the Blackwater Creek Trail. Imagine if we could cycle on a separated trail al the way to Bristol! I look forward to getting my car equipped to be able to carry my bike (64 lbs!) to other trails.

I enjoyed your video. One clarification, the trail is owned and managed by Lancaster County, the Lancaster County Solid Waste Management Authority, Columbia Brough, Marietta Borough, East Donegal Township, and Conoy Township. Each entity owns a section of the trail and maintain it collectively. It's a team effort!
