how much grain and what type do you give to the goat? twice a day milking? how much milk do you get per milking per goat

Purina Noble Dairy Goat grain, roughly 1 to 2 cups but it depends on the doe. Yes I milk twice a day, how much per goat depends on the time of year & how many kids they delivered.

I'm sorry to tell you this but you killed the third buckling when you ripped the placenta part. The kid didn't have any Oxygen supply when that happened. I know that said but true. But things happen I know you didn't do it on purpose you live and you learn

Is there any value in reinforcing the stack with treats?

I wouldn’t suggest it. The treat then makes them search for it and o my focus on finding the good. The reward for doing training right is a shorter training session.

Wren was just an experiment if she was an improvement on her dam. They said they would register her if she look good enough. And yes they do show their goats.

Royal is looking so promising, can't wait to see her as a 2F. Cheyenne is maturing nicely too (admittedly, I wasn't sure about her as a FF last year). I think people forget that a lot can change between FF and a mature 4yr old. Congrats on your ribbons, you deserve it!

I feel kinda dumb asking. I want to sign up for dhi this year. Im confused on the actual signing up and when you pick the company to go through. And what do you send the samples in once its collected?

To sign up first you pick a DHI lab, you contact them and take your verification test. Then you pick a processing center, after you’ve done those three things then you sign up with ADGA and tell them you it lab&processing center. From there the lab you pick sends you the milk vial tubes that you’ll mail to them with your milk samples each month.

Nope, good trimming shouldn’t make them fearful. I usually trim their feet on the milk stand after I’m done milking since I already have them in front of me.

Oh you did great that is not easy. I had to try to fix that in a horse. We could not get it fixed and lost foal and mare. The vet was in on his way.
