I promised myself that I won't critcise music or other's musical taste because mine is far from "normal" as well, but damn, music mass production is the worst. I especially resent Kpop and modern rap (says a Jpop and metal enjoyer, hypocrisy level 999) for they are just mere shadows of what they could be if talent and taste mattered instead of good looks and the romantic idea of a gangster life. There is potential, but people just ignore it and are content with garbage instead of digging for gold. Also, about NPCs: If you have a purpose in life, a goal to achive, a nation or a family to protect, an ideal to follow, morals to live by or anything that makes you do something, you aren't an NPC, you're the MC. If you just live, no purpose, just existing without reason, than you're an NPC, do something against it! Same applies to music: it must have a goal, a purpose, a pathos to it that makes it feel alive, something that makes people say "That's something exciting!". I belive in souls, and I belive each song has one, but some have abomination like souls, and am starting to think that some are intentionally robbed of it.

I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE. i started disliking the catchy recycled kick drum synth romance style songs that can’t go 2 lines without saying the word “baby” pretty quickly. i’m not saying it’s bad, it’s just not for me. i feel like there’s no creativity in it, which probably explains why i like tally hall and jack stauber and mitski. all three of them have something so unique about their songs, like some kind of essence. and the lyrics are poetic, or like a secret code, which i’ve always found really cool. those songs sound like they’re not afraid to be different and that’s my favorite part about them. they’re so DIFFERENT. it’s not for everyone, but that’s what i like. if you’re gonna make pop music at least give it a fire instrumental like chappell roan or something lol
