I have been on Suboxone for over 5 years. It has taken away 95 percent of my cravings. Also I am an alcoholic and it also has taken over 90 percent of my alcohol cravings away. And I also talk to to addiction counseling twice a month over the phone.i take 8.2 Suboxone 3 times a day.i haven't relapsed not even once in the 5 years I've been on Suboxone with addiction counseling. NO OPOIDS and NO ALCOHOL consumption either. I get urine tested every 2 weeks.i am very happy and proud of myself. I would recommend SUBOXONE to every addict and alcoholic. LARRY from KENTUCKY 😊😊😊

Due to no regulation in place on this site I DO take this as medical advice. Most of us do. I understand why you state this as you do but in reality a lot of us do.

Im proud of everyone that made the decision to try to better themselves and the ones who keep relapsing dont give up, one slip doesn't need to be a full blown habit again learn from the mistake, identify the triggers that led you to use again and learn how to deal with those things before they overwhelm you in to using again. That's what took me 30 years to learn. I was never taught how to emotionally regulate myself or deal with stress or how to communicate my needs or even know what those needs were. I think most of us have unprocessed trauma that has led us to drugs as a coping mechanism and we think that the drugs are the problem but most of the time its a symptom of a bigger issue. I just want to share what has been helping me and hopefully that will help someone else that feels like nothing else has kept them from going back to using time after time. Tim Fletcher on youtube has a in depth series of videos on trauma addiction and recovery. I just didn't have any resources or family to rely on and I knew I needed help but couldn't find anyone to help me untill I found that channel and I have been able to deal with the triggers in healthy ways instead of them sending me on a series of trauma responses then wakeup one day and ive been using for a year like hey when did that happen, huh? I would for reals not even remember starting again.or how these drugs got in my hand. Ever since a child when I would be subject to extreme neglect followed by the occasional display of ultra violence I would shut down all active thought and my sub conscious would take over i guess. I didn't talk much at all until around puberty and not long after that i would be out on the streets just trying to survive. If you met me today most would never be able to guess and I am thankful for each day i get to live , dont loose hope be kind to yourself and know who you are and what you want can be done if you don't allow what happens to you make you bitter and hateful. Hang in there brothers and sisters the suffering makes it possible for love to exist.

Quit taking Suboxone for five days. On the sixth day take Dilaudid. You can take the Dilaudid as a new replacement; or, a taper dose. Ask your doctor how.👨‍🎓

I love opiates. And, I think they are the best drugs on the market. I take them for OUD. But sometimes I get little ahead of my schedule. I am familiar with the half lives of a lot of the opiate narcotic drugs. I have had a couple ruff transitions. Using medicinally is the key to avoid bad side effects with these drugs.

This doctor is top-notch, and I'm saying that as a person who's been on and off subs for 10+ years. Been interested in these vids lately b/c I'm considering doing peer recovery coaching. The way I taper subs is like this (though everybody is different): Every Month (28 days) 16 to 12 12 to 10 10 to 8 8 to 6 6 to 4 4 to 3 3 to 2 2 to 1.5 1.5 to 1 1 to .75 .75 to .5 .5 to .25 .25 to .125 Jump at .125 This is the way I do it. I've also tapered off Methadone 120mg/day. To do that I went down by 5mg a week down to like 40mg. Held for an extra week if I had to. 40 to 30 is 2mg a week. 30 and below is 1mg a week down to as low as you can get like 1mg, although I jumped at 10mg with some withdrawals but not too bad. Methadone is more dangerous to w/d than subs, but subs is harder IMO.

NES Zelda Playing Doctor. Cool af! I do the following once a month: 16 to 12 12 to 10 10 to 8 8 to 6 6 to 4 4 to 3 3 to 2 2 to 1.5 1.5 to 1 1 to .75 .75 to .5 .5 to .25 .25 to .125 Jump after a month on .125. Everybody is different, but that's what works for me. Maybe do .25 at a time below 2, as it's the halfway point in terms of receptor occupancy. Don't listen to ppl in NA, either. They work for some people, but they got a stick up their asses when it comes to suboxone. And most of them don't have experience coming off suboxone itself so they treat it like dope. Subs are somewhere above dope and below benzos in terms of w/d difficulty.

My goal was to not have to rely on doctors for prescriptions, b/c it can be a dicey process. If you get kicked out of the practice or the doctor wants to see you too often. It's a delicate balance, one that I'd rather be free from.

Let me tell you I have been on Suboxone since 2007 mostly and my two attempts to get off of it or for the wrong reasons and I have destroyed my life those two times. One of the main reasons was acceptance into 12-step programs that claim you're not sober. We need more doctors like you in the community wish I was closer.

I lasted 4 months of withdrawals when I came off methadone then stupidly gave up and went back on it. It was sending me nutty. I'm wondering is there much of a difference with the tapering and then the withdrawals between suboxone and methadone?
@KyleTO7
@KyleTO7 20 күн бұрын
Suboxone withdrawal can normally last months. Methadone and things like oxycontin withdrawal is around 3 days to a week. If you're feeling withdrawal for 4 months from a drug that only takes a week(max) to be back to normal then you might wanna check out some other factors that could be causing it(if u got nothing to do all day yhe withdrawal will be noticeable but if you're busy it will be less noticeable). Motivation is key. Supplements like NAC , ormus minerals will help with withdrawal. Lots of healthy food, water and cannabis can help to. U must treat the mind tho/be ready or the process will take longer. Things always take longer when bored. I hope you're doing well 🙏.
@atw98
@atw98 19 күн бұрын
@KyleTO7 The half life of methadone is 3 days how can withdrawal from it only last the time it stays in your system. You sure you're not trying to explain heroin withdrawal? All clinical evidence contradicts your questionable statement. Methadone will stay in your system for a month or more depending on the dose you jump off. Even when stopping methadone from 1 miligram you'll have withdrawal for more then 2 weeks, requiring other medications. And be uncomfortable for more than a month. Don't make comments on addiction pretending you have any idea for some ego trip. Especially when any doctor, patient or a simple google search will give you the correct information.

Excellent video, information presented in a clear and concise way. I've been in active recovery from opioid use disorder for over 15 years. Buprenorphine saved my life. Would love to see a video exploring the topic/idea that people on medication assisted treatment have to stop taking their medication at some nebulous point in time. This concept seems to be unique to addiction treatment. People suffering from other chronic illnesses dont typically discuss or need to consider the idea that they need to stop taking medications that effectively treat their illness. People with Diabetes dont have to think about "quitting" insulin, or people with hypertension think about getting off of their blood pressure medication. There's so much stigma surrounding substance use disorder treatment, and so much misinformation out there, would love to hear your thoughts on the topic.

Do you get withdrawals while tapering? I started tapering 2 weeks ago by decreasing my dosage weekly. This week I started taking just one tiny square piece daily. However I’m feeling it hard. Diarrhea, body ache, insomnia, sneezing etc. am I doing it wrong? Or should I continue like this
