Hey Joe, my name is also Joe. I am currently waiting for the Consul in San Francisco to review my application for Juris Sanguinis. It took over 3 years to get the appointment and the consulate said it would take another 6 months to a year to receive a response. My application is pretty straightforward with a couple minor name and date discrepancy typos. My grandfather hadn't naturalized yet when my mom was born so hoping they will recognize my mom's inherited citizenship and subsequently mine. 🤞🏼🇮🇹 I recently retired and hoping to live part-time in Sicily. Been there several times. Headed back for a couple months in September. Thanks for posting. Your journey has required a lot of perseverance. 👍🏼 Hope it pays off in the end.

My family moved to Sicily in 2023 and love it. The cost of living in Sicily is significantly less than in the US.

Delivery is usually an extra charge and installation might be included, but expect an additional charge. We moved to Sicily last year and love it here. Best of luck on your new adventure and remember, piano, piano.

Hey, Joe, Nice to meet you and the Mrs. Wish you success in your 1948 case. I’ve learned so much from Marco & Rafael in their KZbin videos. My wife Liz and I are just starting our own 1948 journey to Sicily with ICA’s services. My great grandmother is from Castellammare Del Golfo. Ciao!

It’s a long process, my daughter had a lot of problems, I am an Italian citizen, everything had to be exact, they would not except Joseph as her fathers name where birth etc stated Giuseppe as our marriage certificate states Joseph etc she gave up after paying a lot , everything has to match, every little detail.

We have a lot in common! My great grandfather and great grandmother both came from Corleone and came into the United States through New Orleans. My grandmother was born in Piana di Albanesi and never became a US citizen. Therefore, I was able to become an Italian citizen. I have an appointment at the consulate in Los Angeles to get my passport on July, 8. We need to communicate a lot more!

New Subbie here. I am looking forward to seeing your journey and hearing more about life in Italy. My husband and I are preparing now because we want to do something similar in 8 yrs. I really appreciate your down to earth demeanor and detailed process. Keep the videos coming 😊.

I sincerely hope the best for you both. I wish we were at the point of moving to Sicily now too! It is never easy to make big changes in life but it is definitely worth it in the end. We will be leaving our adult children and our grandkids behind when we start our Sicily adventure too. That's going to be the hardest part. But, they can always come visit! Embrace your journey and live it to the fullest!

Nice video! I have dual citizenship also USA/Italian. My children automatically have Italian citizenship also but they won't give it to my wife automatically. How did your wife get the citizenship?

Ciao ragazzi! I'm Paul, 55, and from Wisconsin. I also live in Sicily, right now for 6 months out of the year until I am able to get an Elective Residency visa. I am just a couple miles west of you in Castellammare del Golfo. I will be returning to Sicily on June 1st and I absolutely cannot wait! Good luck with your transition to Sicily and your dual citizenship. I have Sicilian heritage as well but I'm not able to access the needed documentation due to family reasons. But hopefully the Elective Residency option will work one day soon. Perhaps we will run into each other sometime? When are you guys returning to Sicily? Ok, take care, Paul

How did you happen to choose Balestrate? Remember visiting the place a few years ago, il Belvedere and Via Madonna Del Ponte, which is the mais street is what I remember of those cute little town. Italians and Sicilians in particular, love to have a good time. 🥳🥳

You can live for less than 2,500!! It's a great island to live on I've been here for a few decades and loving it.
