I was hoping you’d explain how to adjust the door striker. I’m thinking it’s just trial and error? Move it a little then open close the door and repeat?

@chestrockwell83284 күн бұрын
This type repair must be repaired by removing the various layers of structure; no frame man or machine could have pulled that damage leaving the car assembled. Truthfully and Fox Junk mentioned it, the entire structural repair should be completed with the car mounted on the frame rack; this is a advanced repair procedure.
@foxjunk734 күн бұрын
@chestrockwell8328 I some what agree, had I removed the outer A piller skin, they would have been able to pull about 90%. As for needing to be on. Frame rack for a rocker replacement, no not at all. Next video will show that's not required, the rocker isn't a main structural part.
@chestrockwell83284 күн бұрын
@@foxjunk73 Not looking to start an argument here, and certainly the outer rocker panel is not structural, nor did i limit my comment to only the outer rocker. Also 90% is not 100 %, of course some of the damage would have pulled with the lower A-pillar off, but you wouldn't be able to get to the inner diagonal support (between lower a-pillar and frame rail) that you left exposed at the end of your video. I take it you worked in a proper collision repair shop? I did, for 18 years. Had this vehicle been in our shop it would have remained on the frame rack until all this inner and outer structural work was completed as there would be multiple pulls during the panel removement stages.

Dang, you did steal that car, haha I just found your channel from an older video on adjusting the hatch, and now I see that beauty still in the garage in primer. That looks about like my pace 😅 I was always a mopar guy, but my mom bought an 88 LX 5.0 new in Dec 87. She passed in 17, and I went up to her place in central WA & found the car under a tree covered in dirt and moss 😕 Well, I dragged it out of the dirt, washed it, drained all the fluids & flushed the fuel, topped everything off, plus a new battery, new hoses, tires, & brakes, put some clean fuel in it, fired it right up, and drove it to AZ 😊 (edit: 80k orig miles)

Back in the day when I was buying/selling a lot of Fox Mustangs(1997-2002) I avoided Mustangs with an auto trans or red interior like the plague...they just wouldn't sell. I only bought 2 automatic cars, 1 was an absolutely mint bone stock 1991 LX 5.0 sedan Grey ext/Grey int with only 65k miles...paid $5,400 for it and sold it for $6,500. The 2nd was a 1993 LX sedan 5.0 red ext/grey int that was really clean and mostly stock(aftermarket cd, flowmasters were only mods)...paid $3,800 and sold it for $5,500. The only red interior car I ever had was a 1993 LX hatch 5.0 5 speed Electric Red ext/Red int that was just so cheap I couldn't pass it up...it was a clean car with 90k miles and I traded a Nissan 4x4 truck for it that I had less than $3k in and then sold the Mustang for $5,500.

I bought a yellow 87 mustang running and driving for $3,000 back in 2014 come to find out it was a 1 of 47 sand beige coupes. Started to find tan under the black spray paint on the interior panels and dash. Once I sanded the paint I found all the sand beige paint that was painted over I have yet to paint it back to its original color it is currently primered. I run a foxbody mechanic business so it’s hard to even put time into my own foxbody which sucks. My customers come first and I’m blessed and grateful to do what I do for a living. I never have time to record I really need to as I work on a TON of foxbodys anyways god bless brother 🤟🏼🦊

I just purchased a 91 lx hatch with a bunch of parts for $500 off Craigslist. It needs a motor, some rust repair and paint, but it will be fun to bring back to life. I hate to see stuff being parted out. It had just been listed and the guy was anxious to sell, so when I showed up with my trailer and cash it was mine. Fun trip with my 15 year old son!

I found my 88 GT on FB in Sep/22 listing for 6K. I checked it out and other than the paint (1D paint code) and the car being rust free also (Texas car) it had every single leak (oil pan,valve cover, tranny tailshaft, pinion seal, radiator, etc..)plus a lot of wiring hacking/splicing/cutting EVERYWHERE!!! Needless to say, he had trouble selling it at that price point and I finally got it for 4K in Dec/22. Like yours, it came with 3.73 gears and installation kit with a factory GT wing in the car (car came with a Saleen style wing) and I just installed those gears this past weekend. Took me a while of chasing issues and rebuilding this Fox but she is nearing completion. Great find!!!
