This is good, just two things: be great if audio better, so I can understand the historical information. Second, that you allow us to view the pictures in full (not you). Otherwise, this is exactly the type of video that I am looking for a primary classroom lesson on historical Rockingham.

Excellent documentary as I tried to put "Universal Drapers" (opened 1957 at 7 Antares St) into historical context. Before Universal was Hewitt's Drapers (1940s). Your careful and respectful research of industry, recreation, commerce, community events, and day-to-day living was a tribute to this historic town. Thank you!

Very interesting video sir! I grew up in Moose Factory in the mid seventies, it was a beautiful place for kids and families. I know people had their own experiences due to their own circumstances; my grandfather was the Anglican minister at St. Thomas Anglican Church in M. Factory from the 60s till 1980. I had a wonderful life being raised by my grandparents there. I appreciate your video and slide presentation ❤

The name Darwin should be stripped from the city because Charles Darwin said, in his book The Descent of Man 1871, Page 201: "....“The break will then be rendered wider, for it will intervene between man in a more civilized state as we may hope, than the Caucasian and some ape as low as the baboon, instead of as at present between the negro or Australian and the gorilla..." He should be banned for saying that.

People have got to know there limits and you don't shoot Bikes and Don you picked a fight against an army and have members in many parts of the world. So much around with these guys at your own risk. Even if you're a police officer.

That was wonderful thank you....have spent much time around Rockingham, Henderson, Casuarina, Hope Valley and Kwinana exploring and have been looking for some local historical information :) Unfortunately missed quite a bit of detail in this film, due to the low audio quality of the voice track, which is a shame. Would love to assist the author with re-processing the audio if he's interested...

When I first came to Kwinana in 1976 and left to go to Rockingham in 1980 it was a beautiful place back then the oceans were full where was lizards and wildlife everywhere actually wasn't magnificent place today it is nothing but a shadow of its former self there are massive high-rise buildings right on Rockingham Foreshore it is now a dead lifeless trendy yippee town all of people that thinks they are rich but truly only live on Rockingham beachfront and their ugly I saw buildings the true charm Rockingham has gone but it is clean and tidy but lifeless in the water and lifeless out whether certain breed of people that you don't want to be hanging around they are so far up themselves they think they are on the moon and I have absolutely no idea I don't beautiful the place was before the money came and destroyed the place Rockingham is finished every few years all the wildlife in the water get poisoned and there is Miles of coastline with Dad poisoned crowds dead poisoned Stingrays dead poison octopuses dead cuttlefish dead snapper this happens every 10 years or so never the beaches just turn into a massive mortuary for everything that was once living in the sound even at to remove the musclepharm because the water is so toxic and the muscles were becoming poisonous to eat eating from the sound is nowadays you may as well be eating your food from tip because whatever they are poisoning into the water is going right through the food chain but this was a good documentary on our beautiful Rockingham used to be the good old days of gone on it is now just for the rich to pronounce around thinking they own the place the native people just look at them in disgrace and dismay a little they care or even know what their money as done to the Rockingham and Kwinana Beach Shores and whatever factory I think it must be csbp or Alcoa poisoning the ocean like I said about every 10 years Everything Dies it really is a disgrace but if you want to take the risk and go fishing there you might get away with just being sick depends how much toxin they are in them screw Rockingham

That darn day liner would rumble by everyday. It would shake the dust down from the barracks closest to the tracks. I was well versed with shining the trash tins as I usually found one on my bed every week. Some slight infraction. I was pretty glad to see the place in the rearview mirror. When I joined we were about 120,000 strong. Less people less bases less equipped now. Thanks for the stroll down memory lane.
