I wonder if you can't make two nail-bed-planks that you sandwich the wood between, maybe have 3 pair each more fine than the last. I would consider trying it with wet wood first as wet wood is more flexible.

@@MainelyAcresFarmBrooks right now I’m trying the black thread that came with it, only next size up I have is 0.8mm tiger, but that’s way to big for needle and with the wax won’t pull at all. Tried some thin sewing thread but that won’t even start so I’m using the black thread they give u

Listen to all your videos on the bobbin not picking up the thread, following all your suggestions, nothing worked, finally figured it out, if your needle shaft falls out of the hole on top, if you don't put it back in the hole, in the right position your bobbin won't thread, simple but had me up for 3 nights trying to fix

So far, I have had to work on every surface of this patcher. I think it would have been easier if they would have just thrown the parts in a buck and sent to me. At least I would not have had taken it all apart to do all the cleanup and buffing, grinding oiling and greasing. I guess that just sending us parts kind of what they did, it looks like it was a group of 6-year-old kids that puts these things together wherever these things are made. Thinks for shining light on how to make them work. You da man!

Really appreciated the step-by-step instructions on this video. I was able to completely disassemble the machine and successfully reassemble it because of the information you provide. I typed up the steps for my own sanity but had to keep referring back to sections on the video to watch how some pieces fit back together. Thank you very much for going to the trouble to make this. Very helpful.

You could spend your money on better books.. Not enough info to justify the cost. If I'm paying that much I want more than childrens drawings. Odd that the hardcover and paperback are different even though they are supposed to be the same and the fact that there are numerous webpages for this book is suspect. Did someone pay for this review?

Thanks for all the information I really enjoy watching your videos unfortunately I still can’t get the nettle to bring up the thread. It worked when I got it two days ago but it was really stiff so I greased and oiled it and now it runs smooth but I still have the thread nettle problem. I did everything you mentioned over and over. I hate to send it back but I’ve been working on it for two days. Keep up the good work. Skip Franklin

SO HELPFUL! It’s wild to me that the same video from 7 years ago helped my with one i bought in 2024 and for about the same ~$110 price. I did have to use a diamond file to smooth some parts and i did degrease the exterior but i was up and sewing by the end of your video. Thank you so much and happy sewing!

At 15:20 I found where an extra nut goes that I had left over after I took the Big Rocking Arm off, put a butane torch to it and bent the circular end to the angle it needs to be. I put it all back together and wondered where in the Sam Hill that extra nut came off of. Thanks to you I see now. It goes on the back of the bolt that fastens the Little Rocking Arm to the chassis! Delighted! I love these inexpensive machines because they are so cheap you don't have to be afraid of screwing up big time. Not to mention they really work nicely!

Wow Harrison this is an Awesome video. Long but needed for all the detail you needed to cover. Plus, the links for additional information needed to do a complete repair/recondition of the unit. Thank you for sharing this wealth of information. I will be ordering my unit this week so i can time its arrival. Your video convinced me that it can be a great tool. One question, you mentioned fine sandpaper to polish are we talking like 600 grit or do i need something finer ? Great job... Dan 😊
