I am so glad to see an Indian lady hosting an etiquette video. It shows me, that certain things are the same at an Indian table, regarding the passing of food.

Pls make a video on how to mix curry and rice with cutlery. It is really important because most of the times rice and curry are given separately.

I’ve never seen such utter nonsense. She’s trying to create an etiquette for sub continental dining which is essentially bastardised from English/French Bourgeoisie. The idea of fine dining with etiquette was a 200-300 process of evolution in Europe. Where the emergence of an affluent Upper Middle class led to the Chef creating food ideas that could be eaten with refinement. That did not and has not occurred in India or the subcontinent. Even pre-British aristocracy in India ate on the floor with their hands without utensil such as knives and forks.

Thank you for your video. It's useful for those who want be presentable in formal occasions. Every person who criticized your language is pathetic. And every person who thinks this video is useless has no ambition in life, and is happy eating from the local restaurant and probably chews with their mouth open. P.S. Don't use your hands to take pick up for that's shared by others. Roti, papad, salad or whatever. This Covid should be the right lesson to understand why we need to maintain hygiene.

Since rice is a staple in India, it's perfectly acceptable to eat with a spoon. I've seen some of the best Hotel Management Professors using spoon and fork to eat rice.

Quarter plate is meant to be on the left side and not on the right side
@Rue747
@Rue747 2 жыл бұрын
Why so? And why is roti served on the quarter plate that's placed on the left side of the dinner plate- especially since people are predominantly right handed. Do we have to reach over the dinner plate to break off the roti or is it ok to shift the quarter plate to my right?
