The more I look at the race, the more I see Sydney’s potential! Meaning, she’s doing so many things incorrectly here, and still powered away from the field. As expected from a 400M runner, she is ALL backside mechanics…knees dropped, butt-kicks, etc., kicks into her maintenance Plantar-Flexing really early while other sprinters usually are driving and accelrating, and she’s STILL powering away from the field! Give Syd a better drive and acceleration (more extended to build her speed faster), same Plantar-Flex lower leg action…but later, and get those knees up into proper shorter sprinter frontside mechanics, and she’s a beast. She hasn’t really needed it, but if she could as well improve on her frequency a bit, that girl would be unstoppable!

Mrs McLaughlin is a great athlete. But this was a field of 3d and 4th grade opposition. McLaughlin did precisely what was expected: bring home an easy win in a demo-run in a middling time. No more, no less.
