That was so interesting! Makes a lot of sense. Really makes you stop and think.

John Hattie's 2008 should be looked at with skepticism, even though I agree that direct Instruction is the best way to teach.

Retired teacher here and I completely agree with the premise. I taught in Title I schools. Direct, explicit instruction worked far better than any other method for student academic outcomes. It took me a while to see this given the distractive methods and jargon I was taught in Ed. school. Kids need EI today more than ever.

The I DO, WE DO, YOU DO method is not new. It is a research based approach that is super effective. It should be done at every grade level and in every content area. Look for videos that show examples of teachers using this method. It is a life saver.

i really hate my job primary teacher and im sick of people coming up with new methods every year thats apparently better than last years noooooooo

The same thing happens in business- every year the computer programs are updated and you have to relearn so much stuff. Everyone feels like “noooo” but business makes money by changing everything on a regular basis.

Very interesting. I feel like this describes anxiety. Like when you have a panic attack in a busy shop, that situation gets wired with the association of danger and discomfort, which increases anxiety in preparation for the same thing happening again.

At 3:24, If you look close enough, the neural networks actually look like the observable universe. I'm wondering if they are the same thing and we're looking at the a large-scale universe inside a micro universe which is in our brains, and that means the saying " Thoughts create reality" is literally true.

the mind of god
@rebeccatuminello39492 жыл бұрын
@@saiyaniam That is what I thought when I saw a diagram of the universe. I wondered if it was God's mind and that would explain why some people think we're in a simulation. Minds are natural computers! But the computer might not even know what it's computing. How aware are we of the cells that make up out body? The question then isn't to ask if God is real, or made us... It is to wonder, do they even know about us?

I know it may sound silly but this actually made me tear up, to see old neurons forged of negative thoughts and feelings withering away. I'm so glad we have the ability to change, if we put a little effort into letting ourselves.
