Something this video didn't mention is that months before the Disney acquisition, Sony was set to lose the Spider-Man movie rights to Marvel since they hadn't produced a new movie in a couple of years. To save themselves some time, Sony offered the Spidey TV rights back to Marvel. So, even if Disney hadn't purchased Marvel, Spectacular Spider-Man still would've been cancelled.

If X-Men 97 can come back. Then hopefully they can bring back The Spectacular Spider-Man show. Since the fans still want it and Josh Keaton is still up for more. The main reason why I want it back is to finally see the relationship between Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson done justice in animation. Especially knowing that this MJ actually knows that Peter is Spidey. Just like in the comic. MJ saw Peter climb out of his window as Spider-Man when Uncle Ben was killed. This is why she's never angry at Peter for taking off. Why she is so defensive of him. Likr when Eddie was insulting Peter and when Mark was trying to unknowingly trying to kill Peter. It would have been interesting to see how this MJ would tell Peter that she's known this whole time. MJ tells Peter about her backstory and her abusive father. That's why she's so carefree. Just like Peter she hides who she really is in her own mask. Afterwards Peter tells her that he's sorry for what happened to her. MJ tells him it's fine and he's the first person she's ever told. Peter pulls her in for a hug. They pull their heads away and they lock eyes. Without thinking they kiss. Because it's been confirmed that these two were going to get married at the end of the series. Josh Keaton said that Gwen lost faith in Spider-Man even though he saved her life many times. This is what could lead to Peter and MJ getting together without Gwen dying. Gwen leaves after finding out that Peter is Spidey. There's so many other things that would have been fun to see. That they were going to do. Like Spider-Man having his car, Peter and Flash in a boxing match, finding out how Peter makes his web 🕸️ fluid and finding out about Peter's parents. Something most don't do. I love the irony that Peter's mum and his soulmate have the same first name. I would love it if MJ brought this up. We would also find out why Peter and Flash stopped being best friends. Love to see Harry get what's coming to him. He's nothing more than a pathetic wimp and lowlife who's desperate for attention. Lots of villians we were going to see. The Jackel, Hob Goblin, Carnage, Morbious, Prowler and King Pin. Of course seeing the old bad guys come back as well. The main one being the return of Norman Osborne the Green Goblin and his final showdown with Peter Parker/ The Spectacular Spider-Man. It would have been interesting if Black Cat found out that her dad killed Spider-Man's Uncle Ben and maybe have a temporary romantic relationship before she breaks up with him. Like in the comics. So many things. I can see the jaws of his classmates especially Sally and Flash dropping if Peter showed up with Felicia Hardy has his girlfriend. It would be nice if JJ Jameson is forced to do a public announcement of why he hates Spider-Man. It would be interesting if Peter's Aunt May and MJ's Aunt Anna died and they would have to make it on their own. I would love it if the final scene of The Spectacular Spider-Man show is Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Mary Jane Parker together with their daughter. Anna May Parker/Spiderling. Who knows maybe we could see Mary Jane become Spinneret like in The Amazing Spider-Man Renew Your Vows. So many things that could have been and still could happen. With the fans craving for it more than ever, the return of X-Men 97 and Josh Keaton who voices Spider-Man is still up for it. I hope Marvel, Disney and Sony can work something out and make it happen. The Spectacular Spider-Man is my favourite Superhero show and favourite TV show of all time. It's got the best Superhero and Spider-Man theme song ever. Let's make it happen.

First of all, I want to thank you so much for this comment! As a small channel, seeing you go through such efforts to leave such a long comment which I am sure took plenty of effort to write is incredible! It's nice to see you so invested in the video and the series, so once again, thank you! You are a legend! Second of all, I agree with you, Spectacular Spider-Man had so much more to offer before it got cancelled and it would've been so fun to see them explore the ideas they had for the future of the series, it's a shame we, so far, haven't got a glimpse of it, let alone it being continued! Spectacular Spider-Man has been my all time favorite series, not just Spider-Man related, but animation wise in general, the only close contender for me would be Batman Beyond. So yes, I would love to see the show make a comeback, it would be incredible or at least to see him appear more often in other Spidey media with a glimpse or insight as to what he has been up to all these years!

@@nimbus77 It's no problem at all. Like I said there's so many reasons why I want The Spectacular Spider-Man show back. But the number one thing. Is Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson falling in love. It's clear they're interested in each other. Looking back on the series. MJ is really the only true friend that Peter has. She's the only one who knows what he does on a daily basis. She knows what it's like to hide who you are from everyone else. Because if you know that her father was abusive to MJ's mum, her sister and MJ herself. Her sister got married and fell apart after she had two children. That's why she told Peter that she doesn't want a serious relationship. Because she has seen too many failed relationships in her family. I don't know if they have her sister Gayle in The Spectacular Spider-Man. But they definitely have her dad. So it would have been interesting to see MJ tell Peter this. MJ figured that she knows Peter's biggest secret. It's only fair that he knows her biggest secret. It could lead to their first kiss. Here's how I see their kiss going down. Peter: MJ I'm sorry that you had to go through that at such a young age. I know that couldn't have been easy to tell me. MJ: It's fine Tiger. I know your greatest secret. Now you know mine. That makes us even. Peter: Is that why you call me "Tiger"? Because it rhymes with Spider? MJ: (blushes). Peter: (holds her hands). MJ: (puts her head on his chest). Peter: (pulls her gently for a hug). Peter and MJ: (they pull their faces away, they lock eyes and without thinking they kiss). That's how I picture it. One more thing I forgot to mention in my long comment. Is that they were also going to have Hydro man. He might cause a bit of drama between Peter and MJ. But not too much though. They were also going to have his famous spider tracers and the clone saga. Introduce Peter's clone Ben Riley and possibly have Peter turn into Man Spider. MJ turning him back to normal.

As this show was very faithful to the comics, I wonder if they planned for MJ to secretly know Peter is Spider-Man from the beginning and reveal it later, like the Parallel Lives comic. Also is it confirmed that Captain Stacy is dead for his Spiderverse appearance? I can't find much about it but a lot of people say that happened

The whole SpiderVerse appearance didn't make sense to me because Spectacular Spider Man would totally pick Miles's side instead of Miguels, which implies Capt. Stacy probably died for him to have such a change in character.

@nimbus77 yeah I only heard about it in a Greg Weismann interview but I've never seen spider verse, was it actually confirmed as being the reason in the film? If not I suppose this confirms at least one of Greg Weismann's plans. The closest thing to a Spectacular continuation was a crossover script reading with Gargoyles by all the voice actors, where I think the only thing I remember from it was Harry giving everyone tickets for Florida, just like the planned DVD film

Well, the reason why Spectacular Spider Man didn't pick Miles's side is because the story introduced the concept of a "cannon event" which is a pivotal point every Spider-Man has to go through. For most it was Uncle Ben and for Miles it would've been his dad. However, Miles finds out through that that his father is going to die and decides to try and prevent it from happening, that's where Spectacular Spidey steps in with all the other Spider-Men telling him that it's something that needs to happen, which felt so out of character for Spectacular Spider-Man, he is the last Spidey who would let someone die, no matter if it fucks up the timeline or not.

@@nimbus77 Would also add to Peter's reaction when he arrived at Ground Zero. He was too far away, trying to follow after the plane, scared that it was going to crash into the river before he could catch up, only to see it purposefully swerve into the Towers.

Yeah, I've felt it kinda weird how the heroes "were late" in the comics, the first plane hit at 8:46 AM, it took 15 or so minutes for the second plane to hit. Surely some heroes would already be there on site in the meantime to help rescue people. I find it unrealistic that they all were "too late" and arrived only to the aftermath. First tower took an hour to collapse, second tower taking almost 2 hours to do so. There is no way they were "too late"

Knowing that the voice actor of Spectacular Spider Man is very much so interested and passionate about the character, it is likely. However, it's been well over 10 years since it ended, I doubt that it could ever come back fully, only making a cameo here and there

@@kneedox I struggle to stream honestly anywhere lately, I have to buy mobile data every 3 days and if I were to stream, that mobile data wouldn't even last me one day let alone 3 and I do not have the money to afford buying data every single day. Which puts me in a difficult place because streaming helps me build an audience, community and everything and maybe a possible donation but I cannot afford to do it anymore or as much.
