I'm speechless about the way you approached this "task" and what final product you have in the end. Wow! I appreciate your level of details and how the end is looking like. Well done and yes, in terms of quality, you're definitely over 110%. Cheers! Awesome video.

Up to temp before adding heat deflectors? They can take that ok? Only had my KJ a few days and so far I've been adding heat deflectors early to allow the heat up to be gradual but not sure if it's necessary

I love the look of the boot. Just wish that the boots would be aesthetically more round and capped in the front instead of looking so flat.

What are the actual measurements for the wood to be cut?
@CanCraneDoIt
@CanCraneDoIt Жыл бұрын
All of the measurements are written out in the video and also displayed on the measuring tape when setting the table saw. However you could make this to whatever size fit your needs or how many records you wanted to display

Man, it's October and I already want to decorate because you're really giving Christmas vibes. How long do they smell? I'm wondering if the warmth of the Christmas lights might help give off the citrus. My 2 yr old cat hasn't climbed the tree, got her as a kitten. Plus she doesn't care about citrus or aluminum foil. But my tabby kitten hates citrus and I have a feeling she's going to be a tree climber, since she was climbing me when I brought her home. We'll see. But, let me know how strong the scent is and if they last! Please and thank you!
@CanCraneDoIt
@CanCraneDoIt Жыл бұрын
The scent didn’t last as long as I’d like, I think this year I won’t dry them out for as long however I loved how they looked and added a pleasant brightness to the tree going to make them again this year. They last the full season but I’d remake them every year and not keep for the next personally

@@CanCraneDoIt I'd be scared they'd get moldy if they didn't dry out enough, though! They're very beautiful! Thanks for the reply

Can I please ask why you didn’t brush the surface before moving on to the finish? Every other tutorial I have watched brush off any loose charred wood first. I’m new to this technique and keen to learn the process. Many thanks
@CanCraneDoIt
@CanCraneDoIt Жыл бұрын
Before making these I had done a couple look tests on scrap pieces of wood, some that brush off a lot of the char. The friend that I was making this for wanted the sort of alligator skin effect you get of harshly charred non brushed surface.

i hate how so many companies are not including palmrests with their keyboard design these days... such as logitech.i use my keyboard in my lap due to my set up and an attached palm rest is absolutely essential.
@zwxyer
@zwxyer 11 ай бұрын
If anyone in the mechkey enthusiast community wants a wrist rest, they usually have a favourite they will use, and don't appreciate the extra cost a extra wrist wrest attaches. Also they buy various keebs so it's not really practical to get a seperate wrist rest for every keyboard. Also that wrist rest might not be best quality or material preference. Like imagine you had to buy mouse keyboard combo everytime, you wouldn't want that.
@acrock21
@acrock21 11 ай бұрын
@@zwxyer what i have is the logi k800 lesser of a wrest rest and more of a built in extension of the keyboard which acts like a wrest rest… never the less they dont have options for them anymore… its becoming more like an extinct dinosaur… it makes it easier to carry your keyboard (which i do A LOT) without unwanted mashing of buttons. Either way when i upgrade to my next board i guess ill have to build some hokey looking base and screw my 200 dollar keyboard to it… ffs I would keep my k800 but i need a board that will connect to 3 devices and i would like faster charging, more battery life… The other side to my complaint is that these companys are getting so damn cheap with everything even their charging cables are so freaking short they are almost useless… logi in particular use to be so generous in sending an extra extension… dead are the days of customer care.

How did the shellac hold up these past 2 years?
@CanCraneDoIt
@CanCraneDoIt Жыл бұрын
It’s getting to the point where I think it could use a light sanding and a fresh coat, most of it has held up well but there is getting to be a bit of a dried out feeling under one of the wrists
