too many patches (small surfaces)... Barry Kimball's method of Y and K corners is the best approach.
@-IYN-2 жыл бұрын
1. you have to explore the initial surfaces - this is a must! · trimmed or converted · spans, edges complexity · hulls structure 2. preliminary corner blend surfaces can act as an initial orientation for the consecutive blend surfaces · reveals areas of potential pinching · reveals areas of potential spans (to reflect on overcomplicated patch layout later) · any successful corner blends can be reused, eventually extended back to other corner lines\edges 3. the tubular offsets to give space for blend surfaces is great approach, but also requires additional survey on the trimmed edges · convert the result surfaces again if needed · build of partial blends, always maintaining regular hull structure! · blend curves CV structure to match as close as possible the vectors of the edge hulls of the already successfully built blend surfaces

This guy is working car designer taking the time to show you industry practices that might otherwise require a college course to learn. Could some things be done better? Sure, but knowing how hectic design schedules are at car companies, he's a saint for even doing this much. Show some respect

showing difficulties modelling can be more useful because you tend to see the different ways you can approach these issues. Thanks for sharing, I found that useful. Nice to know we all struggle with Alias now and then but hugely satisfying when it works.
