I'm having a hard time. I got a mirror a small one and I've done a few of these and they turned out beautiful but the last 3 that didn't have the copper back like the other mirrors had didn't work. I did all the steps. I'm using vinegar now to see if it will work and still nothing. help!!!

The reason you couldn't find lamp kits here in Australia because it's illegal here for people to do their own electrical work - even lamps (that's why our plugs are moulded onto their cords). Only fully-sealed units requiring no electrical work (like Ikea adaptors etc) are allowed, as all electrical work must be carried out by a certified electrician & issued with a Certificate of Safety. When we arrived from the UK, we were quite used to changing our own plugs, mending our wiring etc & couldn't understand the shortage of electrical plugs etc in stores. Upon enquiring, we found that we were now expected to pay an electrician to change the plugs on all of our household appliances from the UK - which we'd only brought with us because the UK voltage is safe to use here & (in theory) it would be cheaper than replacing them.
