And don't forget Parramatta in Sydney's west. Both locations: Lake Parramatta, and Parramatta Park. We have jacarandas in full bloom now.

I lived between Manly and Palm Beach from 1970 to 1979. Beautiful beaches, great food, lovely hikes to waterfalls, miss the fish and chips and sitting on the beach eating it. Miss the double decker buses, trains and my mini cooper. Australia is magical with your colorful birds coming to eat bread and honey like clockwork in the late afternoons. Fresh warm bread and milk delivered to your back door. Life was so good.

I. Grew up five suburbs from Parramatta,we moved to Seven hills 72 years ago, What was missing is what we called “ little Coogee” we used to go swimming there I think it was a creek in parramatta Park . Mum would pack a picnic basket we would catch the steam train to Parramatta, walk to the park and eat not far from the “ beach there . Parramatta has changes so much since I moved north in 1990 !

I think the reason the story of Hamilton does well even outside the states is Because the story of a man coming from nothing, moving to an entirely new place and then flexing on everyone despite all his disadvantages is a universally awesome story.

Ive always had a negative image of crunulla…but the older i get the more i have a desire to be at a beach side destination that is within an hours drive to a cbd…I feel the Cronulla riots were the source of the fault as thats the only thing i knew about the area…hopefully its so long ago now that i will appreciate this town/city for all it has to offer

Just a quick hint - if you walk down steps to get to a lookout, or walk through a valley, you have to climb uphill on the way back
