Download on your computer SD card format you can format your supposedly dead SD card and a Work again because all it is is it’s corrupt if you use that program that will bring it back like it was originally but blank obviously

fake R36S or rather clones of the R36S work with Emuelec but the real versions of the R36S work under Linux ArkOs it's a bit like comparing Woody Allen to the Rock 😅

I've got a clone that runs ArkOS 2.0 out of the box. It doesn't even turn on without the SD card and yet my PC can't read it. The console doesn't take any other memory card no matter what version of whatever OS I install. I've also tried wifi dongles and tethering on my phone and it doesn't even pick up a signal. I want to try and fix it, but I might have to hunt for the real thing.

If you flash fresh community maintained ArkOS to a new sdcard on both, is there really any difference?

@@Rhoso7 there are a few things that don’t work on the so called clones. The biggest most noticeable difference is the lack of Thememaster. That program is missing in ArkOS on the clone version. Portmaster is a bit glitchy. I was able to install Stardew Valley and Half Life on the clone but while I was installing the Ports, the system would freeze and had to start all over at least once. The regular emulators seem to run fine. N64, Saturn and Dreamcast are glitchy on both the regular and clone systems so no real difference there. The WiFi adapter that I use with my real R36S doesn’t work on the clone but I can connect the clone directly to my router with a USB C to Ethernet adapter and an Ethernet cable to scrape art and get into Portmaster. Those are the differences I can think of right of the top of my head.

@@riyajmondal1387 It’s not a simple task. I wish I had time to do a tutorial video for everyone but I’m just so busy with my full time job. What I can do is share a link to the R36S Reddit group that pretty much tells you what you have to do. The only thing I recommend is to try to flash ArkOS to a different Micro SD card than the one you are using in your clone now. Because it took me a while to find the correct .dtb file. Without that .dtb file the device will not boot and it will give you a black screen. If you use a different Micro SD card and you can’t find the correct .dtb file then all you have to do is pop your regular Micro SD card in the unit so that you can keep playing. And you just keep on looking for the correct .dtb file.

Just read through the whole post and you’ll see a few recommended .dtb files. The one that worked on mine was the one that was recommended by u/MelonGasoil. It was the .dtb file for the R36S Max even though mine is not a Max. It’s just a regular clone.

Telling the difference doesnt really do us any good when ordering online. Once its arrived youre stuck with it whether its real or fake. What we need to know is reliable places online that are selling the real item.

I do know everyone is super busy but Sir bits if you can or have even and idea although i,m gonna try it non the less i download CPS1 folder and trying to extract F.F ( final fight ) but when unzipped it is showing me 19 files and 1 of them is saying ROM1 is that the 1 to take for the game ? just asking and THX :)

@@smartfelix007 yes! I already installed it and it runs great. It doesn’t recognize my WiFi dongle but it doesn’t recognize my Ethernet adapter so I was able to update to the latest version of ArkOS. Theme Master is not working but I was able to copy themes from my R36S and they worked. Port Master installed but I haven’t tried running Stardew Valley. I will try today. And the file manager works so I will try to mount a USB drive to the unit for file transferring. I’m so glad they came up with it.

@ omg u response sorry for the late message you back ok so I’m 17 all new to the r36s studied KZbin videos on it and the sd cards mine didn’t come with Nintendo games for some reason idk I know it’s official it has PlayStation all that other stuff but no Nintendo games so I look at videos on how to put games on it and I see that people are saying not to use a Sam disk I have the Nintendo switch one 256 is that a good one to use? Or no because I really want Nintendo games. Sorry for this being long I’m not really good at words

@ it’s ok. Actually, the best card to use is a Samsung card but you can also use SanDisk, Lenovo or I’m even using the Walmart “Onn” brand card in one of my devices and it works great. I just don’t know if it will last. If your R36S is a legit device, meaning not a clone. You can actually mount a flash drive to the unit so that you can copy games into it. It is a little slow so I only recommend that if you are only copying a few files at a time. If you are copying a lot of games or big games like PS1 or PSP then I recommend you take the card out and place it in your computer.

my cousin got one for christmas but it came with a blank sd drive and ive downloaded the emulec dtb files and it shows something on the screen while charging but if i try and turn it on it stays black, what more files do i need

The white screen means wrong screen version, try them all. I had to do the same. Mine was version 1.
