Hello Cindy, my name is James Farrar, I am following your yogurt making video and wanting now to get started but I cannot find a Euro Cuisine Yogurt maker with a half gallon capacity. Would you be able to direct me to the model number and any modifications you have made. I cannot seem to find a glass bowl with a half gallon capacity that will fit in my maker model YXM650.
@cindyoconnellHealth19 күн бұрын
Hi James! Thanks for watching. I have the same model that you have and I use a glass bowl that I bought that came with a nestled mixing bowl set. I bought it years ago, so I don't remember where I got them from, but I can tell you that the base is 4-1/2: diameter and the top is 9" diameter and it stands 4" tall. It holds the 1/2 gallon milk perfectly with the 1/2 cup or so off yogurt culture. I might have gotten them from Macy's, William Sonoma or Kohls. That seems to be where i get a lot of my cookware from. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
@jamesfarrar835918 күн бұрын
@@cindyoconnellHealth Thank you for your response Cindy. I have a bowl about that size but I don't think the lid will reach down to the base of the yogurt maker. I will give it a try today.
@cindyoconnellHealth18 күн бұрын
@@jamesfarrar8359 It's probably not critical that it closes completely. The heat will till get to the milk and you'll have enough protection from anything falling into the bowl or spilling. Let me know how it turns out!

@cindyoconnellHealth26 күн бұрын
I would use 100% hard white or durum or kamut. It's the moisture level. Once you get that on point, you'll be good! Keep trying. My first attempts were awful. I tried to follow my mothers recipe which she used 100% instinct. 😝 using the recipe I show here is what saved me. I try to get to 7 ounces liquid, but sometimes need to add a touch more with the FMF.

@@josdantas9739 it's definitely a journey. Don't give up! Start with this recipe. Trust your gut when it comes to adapting to FMF. If it looks too dry, don't be afraid to add a little more water. FMF tends to be a little "thirstier".

Those buns are gorgeous; this recipe looks like a keeper. What model or size is your KA mixer? I’m thinking about one, but it has to have some muscle. My current one is a wimp. Thanks again...love your channel.
@cindyoconnellHealth3 ай бұрын
My gut health has greatly improved! My KA is at least 35 years old. It was my mother's and she gave it to me. I guess she bought it in the 70's. It's a 4.5 quart Ultra Power. I don't use it to mill. I have a Komo mill for that. I bought a newer one a few years back and it was weak and wimpy, so I sent this one into KA to be rebuilt. Definitely worth it. I think the newer ones are not as strong as the older ones. I would look into some better brands or models or buy an old one off of ebay or marketplace and get it rebuilt if you need to.

Fermenting can be a frustrating experience! You may not have given it enough time. If you have a proofing pad, that might help. They don't heat very high and it won't affect the quality of your milk. I got my raw milk sour cream from here: dutchmeadowsfarm.com/store/product/a2a2-sour-cream
