You can't have a viking funeral in the desert,u need a body of water for that!!!!!!😂.either the heat caused the fire and melted the tank ,or the tank sprung a leak and ignited the brush. What I got out of this so far is that the gas tank is made of plastic? Is that even legal? I thought fuel tanks had to be made of metal . My wife would have left me out there.
@NorthwestBroncoКүн бұрын
🤣Very true indeed. Not sure which happened first. I was shocked the tank was plastic as well. My wife was NOT HAPPY!

How did you get a hole in the gas tank ? is the bronco gas tank made of plastic ? I heard of oil pan made of plastic but is the gas tank made of plastic ?
@NorthwestBronco2 күн бұрын
The gas tank is indeed plastic. I'm thinking either I ran over something that poked a hole...leading to the fire. Or the fire melted the hole. Not sure which one.

Quite a story, as promised. Is there a cat converter "upwind" of that spot? Wonder if sometimes ignited there and flew back. And I gotta say, I was distracted by the clean garage, I don't know how to do that :-)

Great thought there. I honestly have no idea how this whole thing happened. In regards to the garage; think of it as the largest room in your house and the kick ass man things you would do if it was in your house. Next thing you know, you have a extension of your house!

The white fire extinguishers for marine/auto can have a different spray pattern/distance than regular red ABC ones. Generally white ones are for closer up than red from what I've seen at a box store anyway. Specialty automotive ones that are non corrosive are also available and nice if you ever do use it but very expensive.
@NorthwestBronco3 күн бұрын
I've seen those non corrosive ones, but cost waaaay too much. I can say that when I had my fire, I could care less if it was corrosive or not :) Just needed that sucker out like now.

That’s pretty wild. When you mentioned “blaze a new trail” you weren’t kidding! Always been a fear of mine driving over long dry brush, especially the brush in central/eastern Oregon. My guess it maybe hot components over time just ignited the brush that was trapped then obviously add some wind when driving really gets it going? Hey! It’s amazing to see someone actually enjoy hiking here! My family comes hear yearly as an unwind spot. My father and his brother built the wall around the campfire and the cairn at the top of the hill. I know it’s public land, and that we own nothing there, but the deforesting there has really frustrated my family, and prefer if you could try to keep the places you go unknown as not to disturb the forest and surrounding area from pollution and littering. You could say the general area or state where these areas are located. This isn’t my channel or life, so do what you want, but just a helpful recommendation
@NorthwestBronco18 күн бұрын
I was hoping someone with knowledge of the site would comment. It's always fun to hear people stories about a site. Do you know who actually built the whole thing? Also, who Jim and Sunday are? I'll be headed back out in a few days for two nights. Plenty of history surrounding that site including the Meek Cut Off Wagon train that came through there.
@ManCityStandards-tt9zx18 күн бұрын
@@NorthwestBronco My father and his brother built the wall around the campsite as a fun task, and built the cairn as a memorial for my late uncle who took his own life. There may be a light at the top of the mountain at night because of a solar light, but the last time we went up there, a mouse chewed through the cord. There is also a 8-11 inch thick limb twisted off of one of the trees there near the north-western top of the mountain. Not really sure how it happened, but it did. We have no idea what happened with the Jim and Sunday cross. Suspecting it might’ve been a pet like a dog or a cat, or just a memorial.

That archaeology site goes back at least 18,000 years. At the time and up until 7,000 years ago there was a large lake SE of the site and the outlet for that lake ran right by what was probably a hunting camp against the rimrock. They believe there was a seismic event 7,000 years ago that drained the lake away and the people left. Evicted by Mother Nature!
