Alexxa! At the beginning, I could see the gears turning in your head, and could've sworn I saw smoke starting to come out your ears. Alexxa quote: "Why? ... "Why?" ... "Whyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!" Thank goodness your head didn't explode. :) The setup was ingenious, no? Yes, fun episode! :)

👉 Just a few notes and Dimash's angelic voice... and people all over the world melt away. An angel does not need words to convey his message... Everyone understands! I have never heard anything more beautiful. This is a magical new classic masterpiece that people are sure to hear in 300 years. For Christians, Mary is the Mother of God. But Mary is also revered in other religions: in Judaism she is considered the greatest daughter of the people, in Islam she is the mother of the prophet (not God's son) Jesus. The Ave Maria (Eng.: Hail Mary) is one of the most commonly said prayers in Christianity. A Muslim and a Jew created a new grandiose masterpiece. It needs no words and therefore a prayer for all people in this world... breathtaking, touching and simply beautiful. When Dimash asked Master Krutoy to compose a new Ave Maria for him, he imagined an angel... Dimash said in an interview... and the two are overearthly wonderful. I'm lost for words. For me, Dimash is the difference between the music business and true art. Over the past 15 years, the soprano and producer Andrea Chudak has collected over 200 compositions 'Ave Maria' from all eras of music history. A compilation of 68 selected 'Ave Maria' versions gives 'a striking overview of a repertoire that can hardly be grasped in its entirety', says Andrea Chudak. 'From Gregorian chant to arrangements of successful folk songs, to occasional works by composers who have been successful in other genres, and contemporary pieces..."(operetta-researchcenter) Wow, 68 Ave Maria settings from 7 eras... but now 69! I mean, this song is on the same high level as Schubert's or Vavilov's (Caccini's) Ave Maria... also beyond all spirituality, just wonderful music. * Igor Krutoy ( piano), *1954 in Ukraine SSR. He lives and works in Moscow/Russia. He is singer, a world- famous composer and music titan in Russia. His family lives in the US. Krutoy came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. They are friends and have a father-son relationship. Dimash News: Maestro Igor Krutoy shared the story of the creation of the work 'Ave Maria' for Dimash. When writing a hit, Krutoy is guided by the Italian principle: every composer is worth exactly what his latest work is worth, which means that all previous successes and achievements do not count. “On one of the nights, about three months before New Wave, Dimash called and asked if I could write 'Ave Maria' for him and he explained that he wanted to sing something in that style... Coincidentally, I had a spare evening, and I happily sat down at the piano and, inspired by the memory of the Italian formula of responsibility, worked until I achieved the desired result. It took me a few days to 'let' the composition 'lay' in my ears, soul and heart, and sent it to Dimash, who replied literally within half an hour that: ‘This is exactly what I wanted to hear', said Krutoy. It is not without reason that his friend and teacher, the maestro Igor Krutoj, predicts: “Believe me, in the future the world will be at Dimash’s feet.” (www) * Dimash and Stepan Hauser - Ave Maria - kzbin.info/www/bejne/qnvIaGqsbMmdhLc You should watch a video of a world class ice skater from Russia dancing to Ave Maria sung by Dimash: * Anna Shcherbakova ice dancing to - Ave Maria - Europeans 2022 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/npKVoot5oc6Unsk * Dimash as a vlogger. This is one of my favorite episodes of TOS, largely because of the Romulan Commander. She’s a badass. Compared to the modern way of writing a “strong woman”, this characterization is way more compelling. She lost, yes, for the sake of the story and who the heros are, but she could have easily won. And look at how progressive the Romulans are. She commands a fleet.

Thanks so much to reacting to the incomparable Dimash!! To me Dimash has music in his heart, mind, body and soul!!! Dimash’s voice is so beautifully crafted as he’s been practicing and studying music since the age of 5. Dimash literally changed my life through his music and vocals!! I’ve been listening to him for 7 years now, daily. This past May I finally got to see and hear him live in concert in Budapest!! It was life changing for me, so much that I’m going again to see him live in Prague November 22, and Düsseldorf on November 24th on my 60th birthday!! I can’t wait for the day that Dimash comes to Canada our home country to perform a concert here!! Thanks again for reacting to him, I’m looking forward to many more. Love a Canadian Dear!!❤️❤️💐💐

He is considerate and humble too: He quitted a show in which he was compelled to compete against children, which goes against his culture Dimash Quits Worlds Best kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJ-ZlaCbp5uWjLc That´s part of why we do not like people to react to him in those videos at that show. In his country they had famines in which millions of children and elderly died so protecting children is a big issue in his culture. You understand this if you watched DIMASH "Samaltau", the story behind the song, with English Translations kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYfGpGqtoMuseZY This song talks about the famine during 1st World War after Russia confiscated all the horses and after compelled kazakh men from 19 to 39 to serve in the front line. The traditional Ave Maria /ˈa.ve maˈri.a/ means "All Hail Mary" and it is a prayer to Maria the mother of Jesus for the Catholic Church. It is not ONE song: many composers used that prayer as lyrics for their compositions Most people thought this would be the traditional prayer but this is not the Franz Schubert´s Ave Maria, on Bach/Gounod´s, or Michael Lorenc´s or Ave Maria di Caccini. I know them well because I used to play them when I studied to play the piano. His singing this being a muslim in a country where there are almost no Christians would be completely misunderstood. Dimash did a new one composed by Igor Krutoy and I guess that it started to take form from that featuring in "Love is like a dream. It has not lyrics, it is magic using only one vowel and impressing on it the feeling of that prayer.

If I'm not mistaken, this “Ave Maria” by composer and conductor Igor Krutoy is a work in vocalize format, completely unpublished, although it seems to be a variation of the initial theme (not the introduction but the singing part) of the melody by Schubert adapted to Dimash's voice in order to explore just as three initial notes and changing the fourth note to a higher note (From B4, A4 D#4 C#4 and B4 to G#4, G4, G4, D#5): Like a leap from "dark to light" which is the same contrast as Dimash's outfit (from dark to light)! It also seems to refer to the Russian V. Vavilov's version of "Ave Maria" (wrongly credited to Caccine) and work by JS Bach - Prelude No. 1 in C major, BWV 846, with arrangements by Gounod, which Maetro Igor Krutoy has a predilection for!

The captain and the crew are acting like they have never encountered a Romulan ship with a cloaking device before. Maybe Kirk should review the captain's log from Season 1 Balance of Terror LOL! There was an old amateur fanzine for Star Trek fans that focused on Spock called "Spockanalia" back while the show was on the air. After the first season, they got wind that the second season was going to open with an episode that took place on Vulcan and were very excited at the prospect. If you google "Spockanalia" you're sure to find it. It's a lot of fun to read in retrospect.

This is how you do an episode with a female as commander. Wheras today it is just needlessly beaten over the heads of viewers. She wasn't judged or put on a pedistal. She was simply a commander equal to all those around her.

For me what makes this one stand out is that, for once, our crew is on the offensive. Most of the time, they are reacting to an enemy's attack or intrusion. If I really wanted to get picky, though, there would be trained specialists doing this sort of job, not the captain or first officer of a starship. And only a madman would think that delivering one of the few Constitution-class starships left into the hands of Romulans was an acceptable risk in order to steal their latest model cloaking device. I mean, what if it turned out to be the size of a room? But I shouldn't knock it. It worked, didn't It?🤣

That's a beautiful song and performance but important that she know the backstory to it before watching that particular performance which fails to mention it. The 2017 video of his Chinese performance of that song (which is on translator Gloria Wu's channel) does explain the circumstances behind the song which is why I would recommend that she view that one first before seeing the Kyiv performance. Otherwise, she misses out on much of the emotional impact. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIm0ZmuLYqqXmsk

Love it, it is indeed a great episode and this was a great video...is your shirt a reference to the mini-series/movie Roots, from the 80s, with LeVar Burton??? I didn't see it when it first came out, I'm too young (It came out 1977, I was born 78) but I saw it in repeats/syndication as a kid. Also there was a Roots: the Gift that was on the ABC broadcast TV network when I was 10, I remember seeing that. 🙂 ABC stands for American Broadcasting Company (a private company, not funded by the US Government) and is not to be confused with the Australian Broadcasting Company (which is Australia's version of the BBC, the American version being PBS for TV and NPR for radio)!! 🙂
