the campanula tee is perfect for the office or any other building with artificially controlled temperatures. a lot of offices are either too warm or too cold, that's what the "odd" knits like mock neck tees and vests are perfect for because the neck feels the cold the most

Girl!! You have no idea how much happiness this video has given me 😂 I only found your channel today, and watching your newer videos I was really awestruck by your colour choices in yarns and how good you looked in them. Then it dawned on me that you must be a soft summer, like myself! So I think you got your analysis spot on. I actually thought for years that I am a soft autumn (I'm very neutral) but I was a bit thrown off by the fact that some quintessential soft autumn colours, like olive green and beiges, really don't look that good on me. Then I got professionally analysed this autumn, and I'm actually a soft summer! Now that I know, things make a lot of sense in hindsight. So many knitting KZbinrs knit in either overwhelmingly warm or very bright tones. I still love watching them, but I don't really get any colour inspiration on them. So now you have a new faithful subscriber 😊

@candidknitАй бұрын
you could say drops is kind of like fast fashion brands when it comes to consistency in quality, correctness and transparency/honesty in terms of ecological aspects, fair working conditions, animal wellbeing etc. 🥺 they allegedly also plagiarize patterns... as with typical fast fashion clothing brands, i try to avoid them when/where possible, but only buying from transparent brands is not always realistic 🥲 it's difficult but i do try to find a balance between not wanting to promote drops, while also acknowledging that sometimes maintaining a budget is necessary and that often calls for using less ethical yarn brands, also for me 🥹 (edited bc i accidentally pressed send while i was selecting a word mid-writing 😅)

Happy to have you back! Loved your video :) I had the same issue with my boyfriends Katholt Sweater and did not want to rip back, so I knitted in the round without increases and created the raglan line with slip-stitches. It worked well, but it was just 2cm to short not like 5cm in your case. Maybe that’s an idea for next time if it’s just 1-2cm too short :)
@candidknitАй бұрын
thanks so much for sharing 💕 i had so much to talk about this slipped my mind when filming, but i actually tried that at first with increasing every 6 rounds! it looked a bit weird, though, so i ended up frogging back after only like two increases.. maybe i should've stuck it out 🤔

I had the exact same issue with the hanstholm sweater for my partner!!! I ended up sizing up to a 6mm (and im already a loose knitter), and making a size up. My gauge swatch matched too:(
@candidknitАй бұрын
thanks for sharing!! 🤍 you're one of many people letting me know about issues! it seems to either end up way too large or way too small for people, though? veeeery confusing! i suppose it's one of her earlier patterns (because most of the ravelry comments are under a different pattern name) so in the future i might try out a more recent one like the melange sweater and hope that one has les issues...
@Eva-sn1kfАй бұрын
Your issues with the Hanstholm Pattern are soo interesting! I‘m knitting this Sweater rn for the second time, also for my partner. The first one I did, I realized that it turned out WAY too large when I was almost done (didn‘t try it on unfortunately…). Even though my Partner is really tall, it was just waaay too wide around the shoulders even though I used Peer Gynt and hit gauge perfectly when swatching. So I finished it and gifted it to someone else. Then I started a new one, using a way thinner yarn and 3mm needles, gauge was way too small, but the end product seems to fit now, but still a little on the oversized side. Both of the sweaters were absolutely beautiful though. No idea why it didn‘t work out how it was supposed to… I am not one to do all the maths, I will rather just try and re-do if it doesn‘t turn out good, but if I do the sweater again I now know… but seems like people have real Size-Problems with this one, in one direction or the other😅😂
@candidknitАй бұрын
thanks so much for sharing! extremely interesting indeed!! i've come to the exact same conclusion from my conversations with people and screening ravelry notes.. it's so strange! i really want to know how this can happen because honestly it's just a simple raglan, how can it be so difficult to get right? 😅😂

The points you mentioned are honestly the reasons why I don't want to test knit. I think a free pattern is not worth the stress, plus a lot of people seem to think of test knitters are more like promoters for the design and I don't find that very fair. Before I made my IG, I found it pretty discouraging to see that test knits required you to post about them on social media. What if you don't have any? So I'd rather just buy the pattern and not worry about these things.
@candidknitАй бұрын
thanks for sharing your thoughts! i can totally relate, i only got selected for test knits once my socials had become 'big' enough... i'm sure plenty of great test knitters get excluded from this part of the community in this way :( i've also sort of been noticing this semi-toxic dynamic where it seems as if people view and treat test knitting as someone getting a free pattern in return for promotion, or just a free pattern... while i totally see the value for designers in getting a pattern to reach more people, i regret that that does seem to come at the expense of the quality or amount of feedback being given. there really seems to be little to no emphasis on actually providing feedback anymore (which in many cases should be less extensive with regard to errors anyway but that opens up a whole other can of worms on using good tech editors instead of free labor...)

If I were a beginner, and someone who didnt want a time consuming knit, Id make a cardigan with one column of cables each side of the button band. If you work a round neck , bottom up design it will be a simple matter to work a hood instead of ribbing around the neck if you had 100g leftover. I rarely use hoods but I like the look and the warmth they add to the shoulders and neck.
