Very nice! This is the kind of painting that speaks to me, but I always overdo it. Maybe watching you paint I'll learn to relax. Thanks so much for sharing!

Why does your gray look like pure purple on the paper and on your palette

Beautiful and great class! One tip, show the final portrait in the beginning so that the viewer will see if this is a video for them. It was what I was looking for! Thank you

Your demos are great, but agree with those who suggest removing the background music. It’s a distraction, doesn’t enhance your video demos. But thanks for the video, lots of good info there.

Loved this. I will say it's hard to listen to you and the music at the same time. A lot of KZbinrs are moving away from music, especially when they're talking. Your music is loud when you're not talking but then your voice is soft when you do talk. It's kind of disconcerting.
@solvingwatercolour36333 ай бұрын
I take your point, some people like the music some don't. I like having it to fill in the silences but maybe the balance isn't quite right it's something I'm experimenting with. Unfortunately KZbin also changes the volume settings so what you hear may not have been how it originally sounded when I uploaded.

Thanks for sharing!! Can u tell me how is ur paper is wet for the longest time. Which paper do u use?
@solvingwatercolour36334 ай бұрын
In this one I'm using Arches rough. It's variable but the paper stays wet depending on how much water you put down and also how warm and dry your environment is. Mine is cold and damp atm!

I’ve known about this technique for years and never used it! Why I’ve done this is a mystery to me. I guess I just got locked in to other techniques. I’ll not make this mistake anymore. I like what I saw and I’ve subscribed to see more. Thank you for this.

How generously you share your skill and talent. Thank you! Has it been wet on dry all the time? Or wet on wet for the bigger trees? Great to watch you paint ❤

Thanks, these were painted mostly wet into wet. I dried after sprinkling salt then any further additions were wet on dry

Any tips of the type of calligraphy brush to buy?
@solvingwatercolour36334 ай бұрын
Thanks for your question. honestly, they are so cheap. I have several of them in different sizes, all by different manufacturers. I have one or 2 that form a nice point which are good for branches like in this video and a couple of others that are older and barely form a point at all any longer but they all come in useful. Here's my amazon link, I think any of these would do tbh amzn.to/4ccoUWn. Flat brushes on the other hand, I'm much more picky about, I personally love Princetons.

I have just discovered your videos. I really like your style of painting! However, the background music is unfortunate. Too prominent and very annoying; it's not needed.

Absolutely stunning. Can you share what kind of brush you are using? Thank you.
@solvingwatercolour36335 ай бұрын
Sure. The initial brush used to wet the sky is a Japanese style "Hake" pronounced "Hah-Kay" the main brush is a Chinese bamboo calligraphy brush,. They're both very cheap brushes actually, less than $10 each
